  • Parks police, Kensington Gardens, particularly mornings.

The section between Serpentine Road and Kensington palace - which is currently closed to cyclists.

It is closed to cyclists because:
    Ken Gardens changes

installing a series of surface treatments along the route. These aim to provide a tactile and visual reinforcement of the concept of shared space and promote considerate use of the pathway

I was hoping more for a 'Billie Jean' pathway experience

  • Noticed a police van waiting next to the bike path by the imperial war museum this morning, door open and plain clothes chap outside seemingly waiting for cyclists to ride through the red bike lights. Couple of others in the van waiting to pounce. Glad they're doing it, frankly. See enough cyclists bimble through the ped crossing along there when kids and mums are crossing.

  • They were out today on the South side of London Bridge. I was waiting to turn right over the bridge at the end of Tooley St, and a plump Geordie copper says to me, "No helmet, like?" I told him I was the wrong person to be having that debate with. He claimed to have made the acquaintance of a number of brain surgeons who had shared their wisdom on the topic of cycle helmets. I suggested he make efforts to engage with accident researchers and statisticians.

  • Hmm, wonder if they'll be there tomorrow morn.

  • They tend to rely on the element of surprise. I actually quite like watching them catch red-light skipping nodders. You know, the real criminals.

  • @Sharkstar i would have replied, 'no vegetables, like?' cause im really really ignorant in the morning

  • If they're too stupid to spot a high-viz copper standing by a junction, they're too stupid to safely run a red light. No sympathy whatsoever :)

  • OG fixie fartsniffers unite in the face of adversity4lyf

  • Copper on Wood Street at the junction of Wood St and London Wall giving cautions to cyclists going southbound (as that tiny bit of the road is currently closed).

  • Lad on an MTB shouted out some po-po following us over Tower Bridge this morn but they turned out to be PCSOs. Cheers anyway, man.

  • Copper on Wood Street at the junction of Wood St and London Wall giving cautions to cyclists going southbound (as that tiny bit of the road is currently closed).

Still there today, but two of them now.

  • The busybodies on the eastdulwichforum have persuaded a rozzer to harass cyclists going the wrong way down the one-way street on choumert road se15 near le petit chou cafe tomorrow morning.
There really are some cunts on that forum (a completely different class from the cunts on here).
If I get time I may try and disrupt their fun for a bit.

  • "How to dispose of an old bath"

    "Famous people in Sainsburies"

That forum pisses on this one.

  • Yes but we have the thread for people who cannot spell

  • Nothing against Stockwell Toilet Watch. Its vigilance puts the police to shame.

  • Bobbies all along Regent Street between the park and Piccadilly doing absolutely nothing whatsoever about poor cycling or dangerous driving. Ask one of them what the point is and he says he is only watching out for one kind of crime, not any of the others - he can't be expected to do multiple things at once.
Broadly against cuts but if this is what is left of the Police service then how bad were those who lost their jobs?

  • ^The clever ones saw the writing on the wall and left

  • Did they say what crime they were alert and primed for?

Met police stationed on CS1 stopping people cycling on the clearly marked "shared space" Old Street crossing this AM

  • Quite rightly too - the works are obviously not finished yet and cyclists should be dismounting (as per the signs) because it's far too crowded for both peds and cycles to mix in these conditions. I go through here every night and the large number of bolshy cyclists forcing their way through the restricted space without any respect for peds really gets my goat.

  • ibettheydontevenpayroadtax

  • Yes I know full well the cyclist dismount sign is not compulsory and quite often they are poorly installed by lazy local authorities who don't know how to design proper cycle infra.

The signs in question at Old St are temporary because of the major fucking road and footway works they're undertaking which is currently channelling both peds and cyclists into one enclosed space.

    Don't patronise me, thanks.

  • major fucking road

A road for fucking? Sounds like a waste of my road tax.
