I thought it was more do do with being the author of threads like this that inspires animosity...
You probably spend far too much time in forums for your own sanity.
That was posted in the general forum... as an obviously facetious observation.
If you took it seriously then you are badly in need of a sense of humor
because at the moment you are just a vindictive jerk. -

Yep, that's where I got it from. I still offered advice along the lines of Oliver and got the 'tude'. I think he just likes men...
I thanked you, you were offended by it. I think you must have OCD.

If you thought that it was funny then you are the one that badly needs a sense of humour, as well as some education. Notice you didn't try to respond in the thread proper to the multitude of people that told you to fuck off with your oh so insightful and hilarious facetiousness.
As for vindictive, you are either that clueless and need to better acquaint yourself with the search function or are you just progressing from homophobic troll to passive aggressive stupid c-nut troll...
Either way I don't get why anyone would entertain your questions when not only is it covered in depth elsewhere in the forum so that if you had an inkling of common sense and a real desire to figure it out yourself you could, but it is also a question of such glaring stupidity that I can't credence as being genuine.

And cleary you were being contankerous.
You're not making many friends round here are you. -

The Surrey Hills are the biggest in the South. I find 53/11 perfect. How have we 49 posts?

That's for going down the hills. We're mostly talking about going up them, though.

My current gear ratio is 46-16 and I find it pretty hard to skid. Would people recommend to switch to 46-17 or 46-18 to skid easier? How much would it roughly cost for the sprocket? Cheers

don't skid. problem solved.

Y U WNT SKD?
If you really want it, try hopping the rear wheel up as you apply neg pressure on pedals. Do it in the wet to begin with to get feel for it. Then grow up and stop feeding continentals already minted shareholders pockets. -

i currently run 48/16, i found a cheap 45t chainring, would this be more comfortable or to spinny?
-
• #343
spinny

• #344
Take a look at this;
http://software.bareknucklebrigade.com/rabbit.applet.html
45/16 is not spinny - it gives a 76" gear.

^What was I thinking, I stand corrected.
ppffft skid patch analysis.

You need more time riding the bike and less time skidding, skipping and trying to lock wheels up.
Also as 46 x 16 is my city riding gear, very easy to ride.
So hit the gym and get some more miles in those legs.

Thinking about running 48/17 on my new pompino. if I find it spinny, how easy will it be to change to a smaller cog on the back? will i have chain tension/ dropout length problems? haven't built a fixed before. (havent bought anything yet, still deciding on white or brown frame)
-
• #348
48x17 is not a low gear. Learning to be comfortable spinning is part of improving as a rider so if at first if feels a little light – keep it for a few hundred miles and see if you just get better.
To change the cog you'll need one of the following;
15mm spanner for the wheel nuts (though some are 14mm maybe),
Chain whip,
C spanner for the lockring,
some grease. -
