good lad, my friend back home has a '95 (i think) galaxy that's done 30,000+ miles including several tours of Ireland (his Brooks B17 narrow is the most polished I've ever seen). I'm super jealous of it.

something wrong and massively obvious that i'm missing??

i can't see the advert due to my current ridiculous non-domestic filters so I'm missing everything..
however I was just commenting on the grammar, which I thought pj was highlighting too, maybe I'm wrong. "Custom made" means "to your requirements, specifications or needs" - therefore "for your needs" is not needed.
It really can be that petty at times.

ah fair dos should be an ok bike though

er - that's what i mean by 'custom made for your needs'. i may or may not have been quoting from the opening scene of trainspotting, set in an edinburgh squat not far from you. and was trying to say that this type of bicycle is just what you need, and far more practical as a conversion than the big old dawes blunderbus.

haha, yeah. It's worse than it looks! It was cut one day but the thief didn't take the bike, so he literally just tied a knot in the cable! He's not in London btw. Thieves back home tend to only go for shiny halfords jobs.

ha sorry i missed that
cheers for your help i'm getting the bike tomorrow after work, should be amazing -

be aware the rear wheel and drivetrain is a budget conversion. at some point, you might consider changing this, sticking in a fixed rear wheel with a decent sprocket, and change the cranks/chainring. will certainly get you started though. 531c tubing is good sign too.

Treflip, If you want some sound advice on Fixed gear bikes in Edinburgh go to MacDonald Cycles on Morrisson Street opposite Sainsburys, there is a fella in there called Phil (I think), he's got a fixed and they've just started selling fixed bits in there. Anyway he was the fella that laced up my first fixed wheel, he's sound as a pound.

Thank god. I hate seeing perfectly good bikes chopped up. You should ride the Galaxy too (nice bikes). Get out in the countryside or something. Might be a shit doing really long tours on a fixed (although some ppl do and seem to like it).

@Bernhard - yeah it's good Mcdonald are stocking fixed stuff i've always liked them and i might get a few bits sorted as soon as possible. I'll speak to phil as well
@pj - aye i'll definitely change some stuff around most likely the cranks as you said i've still not got the bike (couldn't find the house) but i'm getting it tomorrow so should be all good
@tallsam - be riding the galaxy too i've always been obsessed with wanting to skate Barcelona at least once so i might cycle down there on the galaxy, stay there a couple of weeks and fly back

Tautology.
-

yeah sorry - tautology, when the second phrase means the same as the first sort of, when the words used in the former are echoed or reflected by the latter. i myself try not to use or utilise tautology.
aww sorry :( i'l build up the galaxy again once i'm done with the fixed
