scary stuff. do you think non-cyclists read it and think we're all bigoted morons?
-
• #28
All non-cyclists should go back to non-cyclingland and stop taking our roads.

The cab drivers all live in the nomansland alternatively known as Lonsex or Essdon.

Velorution has dropped a clanger, the whole article is littered with racist comments.
I would expect a child to know better, maybe he was having a bad day ? ?
Or maybe he's committing retail suicide ? -

Everything Must Go!!! All Bikes 1% Off!!!
-

He's saying he's sick of immigrants with bad driving standards, who've never ridden a bike and don't appreciate the vulnerability, so bad drivers with dark skin should get the boot.
(..apparently, only immigrants drive bad)
I am not so sure his rant is aimed at immigrants, Jews are not immigrants, Cockneys are not immigrants, nor are people from Dagenham or Luton, nor are 'ignorants' from Essex or folk from the provinces in general, to find out whether people with 'black tinted windows' are immigrants we would haver to ask them to roll down the windows first.
Strange unfocussed poorly written piece which makes no real point and attempts no solution to whatever the point might be ?

what's always amazed me about Velorution is how does a bike shop with very little stock, which appears to make hardly any sales at all survive in an area with some of the highest commercial rents in the UK....cannot believe it's a profitable business, how does it stay afloat?
-
• #47
I'm still really confused :s
Yeah I've wondered what Winston is saying, too. I've only been in there once, but wasn't impressed. I was trying to get some spokes but the sales person didn't seem to listen to what I was actually asking for :S
-
• #48
Well, it's not going to be profitable for much longer, if it ever was.
Anyone noticed that he has closed the comments? That's a change for the site. I sent him the following email:
"Andrea,
I don't always agree with what you say on your site, but I do respect your right to say whatever you like. However, phrases like:
'Africans, Jews, South Asians, Cockneys or other uncivilised lovers of black tinted windows'
'dark-skinned immigrants do not cycle and that lowers the standards of the nation. Boris, who is proud of his lack of political correctness, should tell immigrants: ?You don?t want to share the road? Go back to your Mugabe?s and Talibans?'
are unquestionably racist in tone and content, and, moreover, inaccurate. If I was you, I would reflect very carefully on what you have written, and consider whether you ought not to take down the post, and unreservedly apologise for a lapse in judgement. But I would do it very soon, while you still have some readers (and customers) left! "

I've been there a few times, sorting out Mrs K's bike and bits.
It's quiet in the week, but they knock out a lot of very pricey bikes on a Saturday.
