    in bruge is fucking awesome.

and i'm glad someone raised the matrix. i hope i'm not the only one who felt vindicated when the "existentialism for retards" pretentious shitness only hinted at in the first one flowered into all it's ball-acheingly crapness in 2 and 3.

  • yeah, In Bruges is brilliant, saw it over christmas twice.

  • Glad other people thought the Matrix was as bad as I did, at the time everyone I knew raved about it, I just didn't see it at all. Highlander too, that's a pile of arse, and Chariots of Fire, proof that plaudits and awards mean sod all.

My favourite film is Carry On Camping though, so I probably know nothing.

Yep, saw it last night with some friends. Better than we were all expecting. I loved the long convo to Harry on the phone :)

  • what, about it being a fairytale?!

  • black christmas

Charlie & the chocolate factory (tim burton)

    Big Fish

All of "lord of the rings" trilogy.

Sideways (wanky boomer film about wine)

  • WHAT. THE. FUCK!!!?

    Sideways is an absolute masterpiece!

  • is that what your mum & grandma thought?

  • i liked the matrix. i liked the idea. once had a big "what-if" discussion with some mates years ago and the matrix concept was one we talked about. aliens, computers, etc. we were bit freaked out when this movie came out. anyway, liked the series but bit disappointed when it all went 'christian' in the last two.

i like 'lost in translation'. i think murray's character was more ignorant/selfish than racist. arrogant american actor in a foreign country...seriously, what do you expect? and you think the japanese arent racist??? no real plot in the movie, but i sometimes like those kind of films.

just saw 'hancock'. even charlize theron's hot looks couldnt save that film.

  • Did you not get the adult jokes DFP?

  • WHAT. THE. FUCK!!!?

    Sideways is an absolutely masterpiece!

    +1

and lord of the rings is excellent! they did alright in cutting the story down from the book version

  • Iron Man - I think it's utter trash.

  • Vampyros Lesbos, classic 70's german softporn/horror. Tho the soundtrack is well worth tracking down.

I have the soundtrack somewhere PM if really interested

  • you're right about Hancock, started off well, but as soon as he sobered up it became boring. Funny that.

    Muriel's Wedding. Godawful.
Whoever said Transporter 2 clearly hasn't seen the third one which is utter tosh.
    Top Gun is shit.
Exitenze I remember being clichéd and predictable.
    Mama Mia.

  • Lord Of The Rings. That scared me off going to the cinema again for 3 years. I have a hard enough time sitting still for an hour and a half but after sitting through three and half hours or whatever, I was close to tears and in severe physical discomfort. A wretched film

  • Anything with Will Smith

  • Bad Lieutenant (1992) - this is probably the only movie that i have ever walked out of and that was after falling asleep, as i remember it was trying very hard to be pretencious but failed miserably, wank in other words (note: do not ever go to see rush releases). Other than that anything with Tom Cruise.

  • Sideways (wanky boomer film about wine)

Have you been drinking fucking Merlot?

  • Anything with Will Smith

True dat! Will Smith is a smug, talentless moron who plays the same fucking character in every movie he's in.

  • ^apply that to Jim Carrey too, IMO

I agree. I was going to actually mention him, but balked at it when I remembered that I loved 'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.' He was quite good, I thought, in that one. I guess even a broken clock tells the right time twice a day. (Assuming it's not a digital clock, I suppose).

  • Have you been drinking fucking Merlot?

    hahahahah lol-a-rama, classic line!

"I am NOT drinking any FUCKING Merlot!!!"

Jim Carrey is not a broken clock FFS. love him or hate him he is a massively talented guy.

  • Anything with Will Smith

tried to think of a good film he's in the other day. couldn't.

with DFP on everything but sideways too.

    are you chewing gum?

  • Jim Carrey's roles consist of him gurning for an hour and a half. Anything with with Kiera Knightley or Orlando Bloom in, she just pouts and has a big jaw. He does a great impression of a plank of wood.
