Well, there you go :)
I'm built for track - on the road I would just be a leadout diesel, or workhorse who gets dropped on every climb. At best I might win sprints on flat courses.
In terms of time: one race seems a poor return for a whole day of travel and faff, when I can go to track league 500m from my flat, race 4 times in a night, have a laugh with friends, go to the pub and still be in bed at a reasonable time.
Also - I like track.. and I'm 30, too old to change really.. I might aswel enjoy the racing I do. -

I was hoping to get a team together. Full now. :(
Was good (fin d v) last year.
Saw your team entered! -
• #631
Yeah, slightly annoying that Beeston have 3 teams though, 9 vs 3 is hardly on. And that's if Beeston RC and Beeston CC don't join forces.
Also hoping to do the Ilkley 2 day, dependent on team negotiations!

They (probably) won't join forces... Watch Corey and Joe, they're strong lads (and good lads too).
OVB have a strong team there too, Arrow are good at team work, but BRC will probably try and pull them back.
I'm gutted. -
• #633
What is this OVB all about? Vanity club? Seen them on FB.

Split from West Bridgeford. Better kit, but they're good riders, if I've got the names to faces right.

seasons scuppered b4 i started! broken wrist!
-
• #636
Sorry man!
It'll heal by mid-season tho. -
• #637
I reckon the 2 RR's will stay together and the whole thing be won in the TTT/ HC. Anyone know how it was won last year?
-
• #638
That's rotten luck. But it shouldn't mean the end of your season as you've plenty of time to recover fully and still get fit to race. Even if you can't start training again until the end of March you should be able to get fit to race in June.
Hope you heal quickly.

What should I be doing in the 6 weeks the wrist is out to maintain strength/ fitness.
I don't own a turbo sadly and Im going to be mega skint as self employed.
Squats + lunges? Any suggestions? -
• #641
It wasn't that way last year from memory....
You can see on the facebook page all the vids and results from last year. -
• #642
Looks like the RRs actually had a few gaps, which is much more my thing.
-
• #643
You'll love it. Super jealous.
-
• #644
Borrow a turbo. There must be someone here with one gathering dust in a cupboard

fucking wheels touched and came off ice/salt/whatever mid race ..
It's part of the reason he and british track types in general have been able to dominate, a fair chunk of the rest of the cycling world view track as a stepping stone to the road. Whilst that is changing a fair bit, road is still far superior to track.
(Personal inability to sprint my affect this opinion)
