  • Can get flights for £80, would also be able to catch Flanders. Any advice on where approx to stay? Thinking in/around Oudenaarde?

  • Rent a car

Their first 2 day race was apparently great, was supposed to race but university got in the way.... Would be keen to get the future lufguss team entered in next years stuff.

  • Ride a bike.

  • mugs game, that...

  • I am trying to sign up for Imperial Winter Series at Hillingdon .. there is a £5 membership charge at RiderHQ; I have never used RiderHQ before I always thought it was free to use as a rider ..

  • Buys a new bike every month.
    Questions £5 membership charge.

  • It's likely to be a deposit for the timing chip you'll get for the series.

The London Cyclocross League are using RiderHQ for the first time this year and have levied a similar charge. We should, although I'm not sure how the logistics will work, get it back at the end of the season.

  • Ah ok .. paid and got a place; hopefully it wont be too shit ..

  • Don't crash and die. Winter series is mental for 4th cats

  • mental as in?

  • Mental as in mental. Lots of dodgy riding and plenty of crashes on a non-selective course where everyone who survives to the finish thinks they can sprint like Cavendish.

  • It's only 50 minutes, you'll be fine :)

  • ^^ Sounds like CS8 around Millbank

  • Perfect; I am used to that on a daily basis

  • Crashing is learning.

    (not really)
I'm looking forward to summer already.

  • To be fair big races are just as sketchy. Actually sketchier and properly scary at first. But people can handle their bikes, so they don't crash into each other!

  • There will always be crashes, just make sure you are strong enough to hang around at the front, rather than off the back.

Though saying that, early last season, i was 3rd/4th wheel, the 2 front riders bumped shoulders and went down. I bounced over one set of legs and somehow stayed upright. Absolute carnage entailed behind.

  • Sounds awfully dangerous, I'll stick to dicing with lorries on dual carriageways.

  • Ah I do that as well, mainly on my commute mind, pretty sure CTT wouldn't be happy with my drafting tactics

  • Hopefully I'll live to tell the tales ..

  • Just think about it this way @amey - if you crash you can build ANOTHER bike!

  • Unfortunately, rebuilding a collarbone takes a bit longer

  • Gonna be my first season racing in 2015, what are the best tactics for cat 4?
