Hi,

Everytime I want to look something up that is talked about in this forum I scramble together information from various sites. Sheldon Brown has a lot but the look of the site is really dated.

Wouldn't it be cool to have one really comprehensive modern wiki that has everything you need to know about bike fixing and building (not just FG and SS)?

Does anyone know about a really good wiki or encylopedia? I googled around but the results haven't been promising. I'm thinking about putting up a site myself and I am wondering if I should rather put my energy into an existing project.

You missed the point of the internet - accessible and easy to use information. It doesn't matter what Sheldon's site looks like. You go there for sound trustworthy info. It is damn easy to find anything you need and the sitewide-hyperlinks are second to none.

You can trust the info Sheldon wrote as he was a true expert. Wika are the opposite of this, as Wikipedia exemplifies.

If you have the desire to share knowledge, you'd be far better adding to something existing.
