  • who gives a fuck about tennis? it's not even toss worthy.

    toss worthy?

  • FFS! they let wimmen play tennis? or is she a ball girl?

  • you know who's going to loose in that game :p

  • Cadel - it's his prerogative.

  • boom-cha!

  • That is the most fucked up sounding snare and hi-hat combo ever.

  • What's that Skippy? The brave Australian was robbed of the Tour?

we never said he was robbed, he was beaten. by a better team. but he still deserves respect.

  • i respect cadel for finishing top ten four years on a row. i respect all those guys. even the drug cheats really. sastre put in a good stage whilst we were all visiting dr. huez. that won the tour this year. next year it will be good if there is a bit more to it, in terms of winning the whole shebang. still loved it.

voigt was still for me, the man of the tour. five years on the spin.

i reckon this year was a total climbers' tour. hardly anything for the sprinters/classics riders. sastre won based on one climb. good on him for picking his moment, and he seems like a good guy as well as a very consistent rider, but it did lack drama.

    jens voigt is a superhuman.

It was the least hilly course since 2003 though.

  • so, ricco admits epo use...
    http://www.cbc.ca/sports/story/2008/07/30/ricco-appearance.html

Riccò has withdrawn his request to have a counter-analysis done on the B-sample, but said that the testing procedure needed some work. "Of the 10 controls taken, only two were positive. In theory all the tests should have been positive, therefore the method needs to be checked," he said.

Hey, don't blame me - I was quoting Skippy.
Did you really expect a reasoned logical argument from a bush kangaroo?

  • skippy was an orphan, so god knows what happened to him in his tormented youth

    nuclear weapons??

  • Looks like the Tour is not over yet. Stage winners Schumacher and Piepoli tested positive during this years Tour.

  • and young frankie schleck as been in a bit of hot water, too. i don't understand why, i often make 7000 euro donations to swiss bank accounts of dodgy doctors i've never met.

  • *http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stefan_Schumacher (stage 20) and for Piepoli's win on stage 10, 2nd placed finisher was Juan JosĂ© Cobo.
*So that would have meant Kirchen would have been in Yellow for 2 more days. Giving him a total of 6 days in yellow. Not bad going really. I'd imagine a big fat cheque for those extra 2 days in yellow will be on the way to his team soon.
For those extra 2 days in yellow Millar was on the same time in 2nd.

Yeah but Schumacher's was for unleaded...
    Coat!

  • Rumour has it that more positives will be announced in the next few days and riders from some of the teams who have independent internal monitoring programmes, i.e. Columbia, CSC-Saxo Bank and Garmin-Chipotle, are implicated.

  • That's a pity. I thought the whole point was the self regulated teams were making an anti doping stance?

  • The cynic in me thinks it might be a marketing stance, i.e. the team can claim to be clean knowing that their monitoring means they'll pass official dope tests. Hans-Michael Holczer, the Gerolsteiner team manager, has been making this point today after Schumacher's positive.

I hope not though, it's yet more bad news for the sport.

  • it's all a lot of stuff and nonsense. they're all allowed to neck 20 espressos before a race, aren't they, and no one cares about that, the fucking cheating, stimulant abusing bastards.

  • The performance difference between necking 20 espressos and taking a program of CERA is rather marked though.

Personally I'm all for allowing pro cyclists to take the same over the counter medicines that you and I can take as they have minimal impact on performance. On the other hand, drugs like EPO, which clearly give major performance improvements should remain on the banned list.

  • "major performance improvements" and major health risks when incorrectly administered. All those deaths in the 80s weren't some freak coinkydents. Kill 'em all and let me have their bikes.
