I don't ride with music so find my head fills with whatever random and usually ridiculous tune it can find.. and then repeats over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over...
Me too. I spent about half the ride to Dunwich trying to get rid of 'Thank You For The Music'. I normally 'programme' myself before I go out, by listening to something appropriate. This morning: Elastica.
I think my absolute top cycling tune (at least for London) is Crosstown Traffic - Jimi Hendrix.

Anything by the Knife for me. Great for night rides.
good call dude. the knife are great city cycling music. great travelling music full stop. i usually have the pod on random. checking back though the shuffle, last night's ride home was soundtracked by:
girlfriend - the modern lovers
what sarah said - death cab for cutie
big gay heart - the lemonheads
moanin' - art blakey and the jazz messengers
the needle has landed - neko case
roadrunner (alternative version) - the modern lovers
kickstand - soundgarden
kidnapped by neptune - scout niblett
mister would you please help my pony - ween
autumn sweater - yo la tengo
well you needn't - thelonious monk
bill's corpse - captain beefheart and his magic band
impossible germany - wilco
victoria - the falli often listen to spoken word stuff while riding too. the adam and joe, stephen fry and collings and heron podcasts are good for dreary wet commutes where you need distracting from the fact that you're fed up and your arse is soaking more than you want uplifting mood music.

Flip me! Abba! If you failed to shake that you should have turned off your lights, cycled faster and drifted into on coming traffic!

And?

I nearly did. I'm thinking of investing in one of those titchy little iPods, just for occasions like this. :-(

I do. It's a good incentive to go really fast - so no one can hear me.
