The 1st charge but plug I don't hate. They are life-crisis crutches for middle management or teenage extensions for imature bmxers, all are taken too seriously.
...except this one. Who needs a bottle cage when you have all those cups!

Heavy and uncomfortable, good combination.
the whole thing, or just the wheels?
because hillbilly wins races at herne hill on a charge plug, with handlebars from a london langster and 42/13 gearing.
it's not (all) about the bike, although I can't see any of us looking forward to him getting his new alloy track bike built up.

the Charge Plug is lighter than a Bianchi Pista, and the Pista is a proper track bike.
that's pretty much enough explantory why the charge can win races despite being slighty more relaxed than actual track bike.

do you have the actual weight of each to hand? that sounds dubious to me. i've ridden both and the plug felt a shitload heavier to me.

he's right you know.

i didn't say he wasn't right, i asked for the comparative weights. of course, the perceived weight and the actual dead weight are not the same thing.
apparently the M sized Charge weighs 10.06kg according to http://www.bikeradar.com/gear/category/bikes/road/product/plug-07-20542
i am expressing surprise that a bianchi pista is more than 10kg.

PJ: ah yes, those sneaky beers have blinded my eyes.

that's hardly sex-wee territory more a small sickup with a lingering acidic bile aftertaste.

I own a Bianchi Pista, and a mate from a bike shop have a Charge Plug without a rear brake and brake levels (granted they're not *that *heavy).
Charge Plug is about 10.5kg, Bianchi Pista 9.6 kg, considering the Pista hasn't even got any brake on, and it doesn't seemed noticable.
-
• #39
a brake doesn't weigh a kilo, though.
-
• #40
either way, i'd rather have a charge.

Holy crap I can't believe a Pista is even heavier than a Plug.
Bianchi's whole image was built on waffer-thin exotic frames, now they build heavier metal than tractors from Somerset.

i just looked at the pictures again. i appreciate what you're trying to do, and you can always transfer the parts across at a later date to something more exotic.
however, that stem, especially the weld, is really nasty.
-
• #43
The tyres look nice...
-
• #44
get some clips man, or at least a brake.
that bike is surely unridable with that stem combined with no reasonable method of stopping. And I won't be fucking happy if you crash into me, that's for sure.
-
• #45
i'm guessing it looks like this becuase he just finished it and then hadn't got round to putting a brake on. i sometimes take pics of my builds when still using nobrake systems.
-
• #46
surely missing thecritical 'how much?' message, and also the ' how big is a medium?' message.
also.. nice wallpaper! -
• #47
there is no possible reason why anyone in their right mind would want a stem like that.
Right mind? You must be joking.
-
• #48
why does the charge still have it^s front wheel? QR and no lock ;)
-
• #49
^^^Is a top tube or should it be 'lock tube' protector really necessary?
-
• #50
My plug - a stop gap between something better and the crap conversion I was riding before...
Thanks to Dale for building the wheels as well.
