  • or dont do it

  • i say no...

  • no it is

  • you guys are mean... someone buy it off him. Wheres the love?

  • yes to:
    Santa
    bianchi bikes.
    the north pole.

  • Send it, it's fraud. How many people going into Brick Lane Bikes are told that the frame that they're buying isn't actually a "classic" brand, but is a fake?

  • come on chris lets no beat up on jan's business

a business based on fraud and deception?

  • does it not depend how the logo is depicted?
    ie correct font proportions etc.

  • and tools? time putting it together... i get paid my the minute.

So thats how you make the gigolo business pay for you.

  • Surely if anyone is going to take issue with BLB it should be the guy who was had - in this case it's farns. It's nobody elses place to step in and claim this as their own crusade.

  • Chris, Surely the named mechanic should have a say in whether or not he's included in that email if it ever gets sent.

Oh, and we don't have any Dragon spares at the moment. Check ChainReaction.

  • come on chris lets no beat up on jan's business

He doesn't need to 'fake' frames to have a successful business.
He should have more pride in what he does.

  • So thats how you make the gigolo business pay for you.

Right ok... this issue of me being a lady boy was started by EM she suggested that im in fact pretty...not handsome. :(

I cant help you boys want a piece of the action.
I don't mind the looking but the touching often disturbs me.
Tommy you should know after MA3k insertion on you... that story sank pretty quickly ;P

    oooo what a bitch

  • Surely if anyone is going to take issue with BLB it should be the guy who was had - in this case it's farns. It's nobody elses place to step in and claim this as their own crusade.

And Bianchi, who are having substandard frames passed of as their own. And the next owner of the bike, who thinks he/she is buying an original Bianchi.

  • send it send it, fight fight fight

  • send the letter. jon is/was the interweb geek ;)

  • Being very fair. It should be up to the guy who bought it.
He should take it back and ask for his money back.
Threaten them with trading standards etc.

It's in their interest to take it back and relabel it.
If they don't refund....then press action.

BLB are foolish. They really don't need to do this to sell bikes.
They've had chance after chance to rectify their mistakes.

    It's shocking.

Saying that...will that stop them from doing it in future. Maybe it's a good thing this has come to light.

  • I think you should send it. I don't like BLB, i find em' a bit stuck up.
and i've heard rumours that half the bikes in there are stolen anyway.
    Brixton Cycles all the way!

  • "Birck Lane Bikes"

    genius.

  • i don't see a good reason for not sending such an email... we represent a large portion of the kind of riders that frequent a shop like BLB. they, whether by luck or by careful positioning, occupy a privileged niche amongst bike shops here in london. Yet they have proven themselves to be pirates. branding a frame bianchi when it isn't a fucking dry and someone should say something. I don't know Jan but I have met him and he seems nice enough, but this is well out of order.

  • i would leave it up to the person who bought the frame it doesn't really have a huge amount to do with us !

  • Maybe get some decent pictures if you wanna sell a bike...and definately don't post pictures of yourself sitting on it!! Jeeeez. And maybe, if you're asking that sort of money you might want to provide a proper spec...at least list the fucking dimensions. You really haven't thought it through properly.

Oh, and it's your first post is it? Prepare yourself for a fucking lynch-mob. Ahhh...

I was assuming the bike came with a FREE trendy wanker, as pictured – that's a steal!

  • I have severed contact with them as it was impossible to work with them any longer. I no longer run their site or have anything to do with them.

A sloping mettalic Celeste frame decalled as Bianchi was brought in and to settle money owed to Jan the frame was bought - I can't actually remember how much, but it was less than £150. I desperately wanted it, as some of u know I have an on-going quest for a Celeste Bianchi. When I got up close, the stickers were on the outside of a badly enameled slightly weird Celeste colour - We discussed how it was not a Bianchi and it looked like the fork and track ends were different from the original build. I offered £250 and Jan declined saying he couldn't possibly sell a bike in such bad condition (it had beed running a 3/32 chain on a 1/8 drive train for a long time and there was dit and grease glogging up every gap) for £250. And that he was going to clean it up and get it re-sprayed.

If I remember rightly it was Jos who had the frame originally as I remember a post ages and ages ago where I was asking who owned said frame as I really wanted to buy it - thinking it was a bianchi.

    10th MAY 2007 THREAD

To be fair - it might not even be the same frame - but the one above had a Deore hub on a 650c wheel so I just put 2 and 2 together.... not always a good idea on here ;-) I was more flaburgasted at how much the seller of said bike must have been done by cause he was selling at £650
