  • But surely it would be a bit better if it was one disappointed customer to every 12 satisfied customers.
Only 1 in 12 customers have a good experience? That's not good service...is it?

I admit I've always been treated well but this is about rebranding, not customer service.
I'm sure they'd offer me great service whilst unknowingly buying a £600 track conversion...

  • poll time :p

  • respect to you broken_77 for defending you and your bike shop when you don't even really need to.
jonaent, dogsballs, et al, well done, you have succeeded in making yourselves look like fucking muppets. that is what you get for mouthing off on forums when you know jack shit.

now watch this thread sink in shame.

Thats not what he was saying. He was trying to say that if someone has a bad experience they tell everyone but if someone has a good experience only 1 in 12 will tell anyone. Or something along those lines

I figured that was what he was gearing towards! ;-)

  • ignore me. I've never been able to understand the subtleties of communication.

aha i got a bit excited over there:-)
i was meant to say that people with bad experiances will always tell the tales but the happy ones wouldnt;-)

    hm as i said immigrant;-)

  • To be fair, this thread has devolved into abusing a bike shop based on a completely incorrect assumption by jonaent.

That bike ironically may well be worth the asking price if it is a colnago, surely?

I had a bad experience with blb, and i got over it, some of you guys do annoy me by bitching about a shop you never even go to.

  • Why would you take a colnago and turn it into a Bianchi..? like am I missing something

  • Jan's a clever guy. If the bike was a Colnago, he would know. It'd be in his interest to sell it as a Colnago. I'm sure he'd check that out first.
The bike came to Jan as a Bianchi.
According to Jonaent, a conversation was had in store about it not being a real one. The dropouts were changed and the bike labeled as a Bianchi anyway.
That's were the only problem is. Should he have done so?
It wasn't an original track pursuit frame. Should he state that when selling it?

I don't doubt it's a decent frame. Many classic Italian frames featured the club cutout from the lugs. It just seems dishonest for a bike shop to be labeling bikes incorrectly.

Had Jonaent not posted his evidence, would anyone have questioned the origins?

It's a nice bike, though £650 seems a tad expensive.

You can understand why people here get frustrated and angry by such stories whether they shop there or not.

  • do it!!

Weird, I'm sure if its a colnago, someone would have spotted it at some point? But those lug cutouts do look very similar.

BB shell should also be cutout, cloverleaf, or possibly multi hole pattern on the early ones.

  • well id like to set the matter straight after talking to Jan and others in the shop

    1. Jon the webguy NEVER worked on the shop floor nor as a mechanic. He was PAID to build and update the website only.

    2. The bike which is being sold here on or gumtree is a genuine track bike so no conversion going on here. The bike came to the shop in a very bad shape WITH bianchi stickers on it. Then it went to the painters and of course the decals were reproduced becuz they were on the bike when it came to the shop.and if its a colnago???? i dont think so.Anyway it is definitely pure track geometry handmade italian??? frame

    3. so basically all the shitstorm ensued becuz people have nothing to do but talk shite all day me included. Most likely Jon the ex web guy is to blame becuz he was stirring shit when he didn't know what he was talking about.

    4. Aha speaking about jon the ever honest web desinger. Apparently if he has all the bad publicity coming from brick lane bikes and he doesnt want to be associated with the shop anymore why doest he keep them as one of the major client on his LEAF DESIGN website http://leafweb.co.uk/.and he is obviously really concerned about his work ethics when he drops shit on people while he was working for them/ used to work for them.

so much for the guy who was hundred percent sure and honest about what he said about the bianchi bike.......

5.make of this what you will

  • The shoes are a one off.
    Priceless!

Same bike, same carpet, same flat. If anyone genuinely wants to see it up close then just let us know (if you guys ever go outside and leave this forum - LOL).

I think I remember the guy who owns BBL not wanting to sell this frame to my friend as he wanted it himself. Anyhoot cheers for all the responses (I think).

  • im gonna buy this and turn up at polo just to cause a massive argument

Mate, everything I said was true - it is the bike I saw and wanted to buy. It's not a Bianchi, it's not worth £650 - that's all I said. There is a reason why everybody complains about the shop, on or off the forum.

I made a mistake posting what I did, it wasn't the right thing to do, but I was insensed by the fact that someone else has been shafted by BLB and posted it, not knowing, on the forum!

The reason BLB site is still on my site is because I put a lot of work in (and only got paid £600!!!....) and I'm proud that I created a site that went from 0 to 40,000 hits in 4 months. It's not my work I want to sever my links with...

end of, I made a mistake to post that, sorry guys

    xx

  • oh dear this thread is one badly run court of law.

the bike is plainly not a bianchi, i would be gutted and secondly, it's good that people noticed.

So what to do ? If Farns did pay £650 for that puppy killer, sigh :(

I really don't think £650 is doable. £250-£300 i think is realistic. Perhaps more on the ebay.

Not nice to see dis-honest business. But unfortunately, many many business thrive because of it. And this is no exception.

Farns, get a refund. Go backwards, not forwards. I think u've been coned.

  • what a slanderous brouhaha we have here. fuck me. i bet half you haterz haven't even been in the shop, and the other half are still angry because you asked them what the difference was between a track and a 'curryer' bike was and they looked at you like you might need help.

perhaps if you stopped typing abuse from your mac and had to work for a living you might think twice about attacking your local independent retailer. in the meantime, continue shopping at tescos, all the while bemoaning the state of the universe and riding critical mass on your home-built shitwagon.

  • i heart pj

  • farts, is this a joke?

  • I heart PJ too... He's a sweetie...

650 for a whole track bike with a genuine(as in not converted, for the slower people) sloping frame is not bad at all.........apparently there are some magicians who can build bikes for 250-300...i wish i was one......oh yeah i forgot about the guy form angelfire curryr bikes:-).....or 200 pounds worth of amazing new trend bike........

anyway the bike came into the shop with bianchi stickers on it..went to painters and was redecalled the same way it was.....and a refund after almost a year:-).....you must be a silly little creature, dont you???

and it seems really nice that all you people want to save farns form the evil bike shop and its employees.....but Jan actually said dont buy frame its gonna be really fukken uncomfortable......

already covered in the thread, in some detail.
