I've got a few bits of 60s/70s Taiwanese, Indonesian and Malaysian stuff that I want to play out, but all seem to have the following in common: a given LP will have several utter heat rocks on it, but when the vocals kick in, they all drop the instrumentation lower in the mix. It means when played out, its veeerrry vocal heavy and kind of doesn't work. Which is a shame, due to aforementioned otherwise heat rock status.
This Qing Shan track is a good example

I'll be playing my usual wonky leftfield boogie balearic dubby disco stuff. Festus always mixes a lovely selection.

The shows usually go up on the Mixcloud a few days after the fact, it is not an automated process.

no worries, was eager to hear, and thought it would have been up by now, if someones got to put it up manually, I'll slow my roll and listen later in the week.
Thanks -

Great to see Festus is still about, I did try to get in touch with him when I was over but didn't hear back. Look forward to having a listen when it goes up!

A blast from forum past on the radio show this Sunday ... Last I heard Phil play was at a reggae night in New X at the now-closed Flower of Kent. He absolutely KILLED it. I mean really good.
Anyhoo he's playing me a non-reggae set this month.

So a couple of days before this show^ was recorded, a hero musician of mine Keith Leblanc died. I felt I needed to share some of his very individual music on the show so I made a short tribute with love to Keith.
‘Two Soup’ played a brilliant set, of a sound he dubs ‘badman disco’. Please take a listen when you get a chance!
Still no-one booked for next month’s show.

Ah, would have loved this, but have my mum in town that weekend so probably not really appropriate! I'll keep an eye out for the next one
I just heard Bill Brewster's edit of it and I'm amazed I've managed to avoid hearing the original as I love a TV/Film theme or library tune.
