To be fair it is a bit hard to 'upgrade' from a common Formula hubs with rims, spokes, etc. under £100, unless he can build the wheel himself (or a mate to do it for him for pennies).

• #1428
I was considering building it myself actually. Doesn't seem as hard as I thought it was (bearing in mind I had zilch idea how to build one)

or, face white chapel, turn right and you can't miss it. Just don't go by the OP's link, that's the wrong car park.

jebus, you're right, thanks for pointing that out. Google is being stupid, that link was perfect when I uploaded it in November.
Okay I've relinked now to white's row but google is deciding to be a prick about things so the map is shit.
tried my best. anyone else want a pop at it post a link and I'll copy it to the front page.
cheeers!

Let's see how this one works:
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=e1&sll=51.522416,-0.604248&sspn=1.442373,3.537598&ie=UTF8&ll=51.518471,-0.075821&spn=0.002817,0.006909&z=17Edit: Yes, this seems to work. Remember to temporarily switch on Google's JavaScript or all you'll get will be a search page.

Doesn't work yet, I'm afraid. You copied the print appearance of the link (which is shortened by the forum software because the link is so long). Do you use Firefox? To copy, right-click on it, choose 'Copy Link Location' and then paste into the OP.

• #1443
oh bollocks. i'll try and paste the other one up again..

• #1444
try multimap.com, sometimes better than googlemaps as they show more detail such as car parks etc

TBH, it's a good way of getting people to HTFU and use a bit of the old London wisdom to get there. Think of it like a trial.
"Well done, you have reached stage one. Now find the ACTUAL White Row car park."
:D -
• #1446
If people can't find the car park on the map then here is a print screen of it:
And, for good measure:
For those who haven't been before, the entrance is pretty much where the 'R' of White's Row is on the first pic.
Here is what I types into Google Maps for almost the exact location:
White's Row Tower Hamlets, London E1, UK
Hopefully I'll be back tomorrow after a rather lengthy period of trying to re-grow then end of my index finger!

Will do me best to get there! Gotta swap over a couple of things from my road bike when i get in though, which may make me think 'feck it, too late now' but hopefully not.
will it last more than an hour this week? :P It's not even that cold these days! So it had better be on till 11ish! Any suggestions for a 0mm offset fork, as my steamrollers fork doesn't allow for barspins with a 700c, even when a 26" is in there, it hits my toe seriously easily... / a very small rake fork.

• #1448
Does the wheel clear your frame? That's the main problem. If it's only your foot that gets in the way then that can be changed by repositioning your feet whilst trying to barspin.
I'm aiming to be there for a good few hours tonight. It's about 6-8 degrees warmer this week than last.

yeah, nearly all wheel/fork combos hit your toe barspinning unless you have you feet in the right position. You need to do the pop up when your feet are very high or very low in the rotation (if you see what I mean...)

it's been a while since I came to the roof, might make an appearance tonight. who's heading down?
I should read the rest of the thread before posting, Fail!
