  • had fun last night, i was on the slightly stickered up iro with rear orange deep V. thanks for the brief advice on those slide things rosmal (i think). will try to introduce myself next time.

  • So, any space for a posh git such as myself? It's a 6.2 mile trek from the west but sounds fun?
What time and when do these gatherings usually occur?

  • Yeah, everyone welcome.

Whitesrow, Tower Hamlets, something, e something, google maps it. It's ontop of a carpark which is pretty skeletony, fairly easy to find. Get a number, such as mine - 07837990 46 3 and give it a call if you get lost, not always there though. Every tuesday from 730ish till 1030ish depending on weather etc.

It's 11 miles cycle from where I am to Shoreditch, HTFU.

Mate, anyone is welcome, the more the merrier.

Thought before you go, it's worth wrapping up warm since it's quite cold at the top of the car park roof as the night go on.

    • 1... pair of socks i was there earlier with nosferatu for about 40 minutes and my toes were completely fucked
  • i'm still confused fat pants, a few posts up you posted the same link i did to google maps which is not near spitalfields???

  • if you know where liverpool street station/spitalfields cycle surgery is then its literally round 1 corner

  • Or Aldgate east tube which is down the road.

  • Yup, just find the entrance and make you way to the roof.

hell, 1 miles cycling on normal shoes it'll be fucked before you even get there!

  • Vans slips ons, not recommended for this weather, literally a piece of cloth sewn to a slab of rubber, wind/cold goes straight through.

  • Yeah, it's weather like this when i feel i might have to get some overshoes, although, my m182 spds are pretty windproof, just not very waterproof :( And don't keep my feet warm at all.

see, I never understood the population of the Vans slip-on, sure it's as comfortable as wearing a slipper, and it look very nice, but damn it's too weak for riding with strap and cage especially, the cage dig in easily on your feet, fabric too thin, easy to get wet etc.

I've been cycling with my Adidas Leader shoes recently, they're made of leather which mean it act like a windstopper (well better than a slip-on), stay warm and extremely grippy in the dry, all I need is waterproof sock and I'm sorted.

sure it doesn't score hipster point, but in this time of year, I just couldn't give a fuck.

  • Kl, will probably see you on sunday then. I'll allow Sat to get familiar with the bike (It shud be arriving through the mail on friday but can't ride till sat) and do all the necessary adjustments (flip wheel around, break in the brakes etc) and I'll see you guys there!

    Question though, will I need a lock? I'm guessing I won't..well hoping..I don't have one..yet.

    I'll be wearin these:

    Nice and warm :D

  • well, usually no, but it nice to bring one just in case you fancy a bagel down Brick Lane or summat.

  • So is this strictly only on tuesdays? Not saying you should change the date, but are there any other sessions on week-ends for example?

  • Not really, it's always every Tuesday.

  • Right, fair enough. I'll see if I can make it next Tuesday then :D

  • I was a bit shy again tonight, i recognised the hillbilly for a 2nd time but i'm still too much of a fag to say hi to everyone... Which is mainly cos i didn't know anyone there.

Right! I'm going to come speak to you next time I'm there and there is nothing you can do about it! Then your know at least one looser there.

Note to all newbies: Don't be shy, just come and have a laugh and say hello.

  • He doesn't bite........unless you ask him to.

  • Was damn cold, and a smallish turn out, but meh, still an enjoyable night, until i heard a weird sound come from my rear tyre when i did a skid, had gone through the rubber, which called an end to my night. And to think, i was gonna bring my spare folder tonight too! GAY!

Had a nice chat with a guy with a chrome plug about all sorts, nice meeting ya if you're on here.

Hopefully next time i'm there i'll be on a fresh new nice bike, instead of that bastard touring frame i can fit a bus through (rear wheel to seat tube clearancewise) And hopefully that'll mean i get barspin wheelies as it's impossible to not be yanking at the bars to keep a wheelie.

Ello Fat pants I was the dude with the chrome plug. Likewise was nice chatting to ya. Was my first night at tricks but managed to meet quite a few people through Crabbers. Wont be there next week but hope to be there the week after is there is one?

  • Ah cool!

Yeah, should be there in 2 weeks time, but now i've got my surly, i love how it's all nice and shiny, i'm tempted to keep the 26" front wheel off of it, ride with a front brake for emergencies and only do light tricks on it like wheelies and backwards circles etc. But it's damn nice, good size too thankfully!

Brooks b17 titanium rail, for 60 quid on it too! Only used for a few days!

  • WANT!!!:

where can i get those black ones in the middle?
