Good post.

1 Pearson fixed commuter
1 Giant hardtail
1 hybrid child transport machine
1 trailerbike & various kids bikes. All have to live outside (sob) chained to a ground anchor with various locks / cables under a dodgily-built awning thing to keep the rain off. Though they do get the occasional night in the kitchen when they need maintenance.

I use one of these now. I'm a bit worried about rust but wtf, it keeps the peace at home: three bikes in here, one in the hall, instead of three in the living room, one in the hall.

Two trackbikes
One racing
One touring
One MTB
A Long John (something like this - http://www.fahrradzukunft.de/fz-0603/0603-02/p1.jpg)
and a big 3-wheeled cargobike - mostly used for dumpstering.Mostly I use my commute trackbike, and the 3-wheeler, and the touring-bike, in that order.
I've said it before, I'll say it again, I want to BE haj!

i have 8 frames but swopping means an indeterminate amount of bikes / combos. I'm with BMMF they are more like fuck buddy's i won't be tied down to any of them and if they nag me with that oh so grating grinding noise, fuk em they go on the shelf. (except for the plume, always except for the plume)

I have 2.5 bikes at the moment - Condor pista (bought about 2 years ago, and was my first fixed gear bike)...a beautiful Eimei that I got from the Fixed Gear London crew...and a Roberts lo-pro that is being built up at the moment, the frame was an opportunistic purchase on this one
all live in my house, where I live with my family...they are getting concerned at the sudden proliferation of bicycles, but whatever, there is space for them all between two attic areas we have...any more and it would become a problem though...

Clearly the Freudian tones alluded to by GA2G are over not under in our case.
But I don't perceive any of my bikes as my mother (or father).

In our house there are currently 9 bikes between four people. OK, five of them are mine... six of them are fixed. We live a little too far away from a tube for it to be very expensive and so the flat is quite big. Good job that everyone in the house is a bike nerd...

What are these like to use in practice Skullhead? Was thinking about getting one as an upgrade from the current bits-of-wood-covered-with-a-tarp protection, but thought it might be a bit of a faff to get in & out.
