Ale, star file down the other bit of braze-on still attach to the frame.
the idea is to finish with a clean seat tube, so you can put the new clap.
-
• #30
I thinking, if you want to still try to put back the old brace-on in edwardes.
you should be able to put the jubille clap just a bit down in the seat tube and left the brace-on be
this will allow you to use the bike until next bike
-
• #31
yeah, I was thinking that too - seems a bit final to hack into the braze-on still going strong - someone offered to weld broken one back on early next week but he ain't a bike mechanic. Would it still be possible?
But unless I can be sure of the jubilee clip doing the job with this minimal seattube/right braze on still on frame, I guess I better get to work..
-
• #32
check and see if only with the jubille you can ride, if yes free drink if not is shit because even without the brace-on the jubilee is not working
-
• #33
how you going?
-
• #34
how you going?
terrible.
either staying in with my head in my hands or coming over on my insanely unweildy emergency emergency hybrid.
bollocks.

I've spent the last three hours hacksawing, filing and trying to fit the jubilee clip to the top of the seat tube. There isn't enough space for the clip to sit properly. Operation fucked.
I basically am waving goodbye to the Clapham Slapper due to a seat bolt breaking off.
This can't be happening.

BRM - thanks man but not sure I'm ready for a twenty+ mile fixed ride with 60 people half of whom are already drunk.. I may yet roll up on my Giant but only if I can see past my desolation dude.. but it's waay slow and cumbersome.

...but it's waay slow and cumbersome.
Basically the Peugeot with gears, then?
:)

• #40
you are rather nice - that sounds good...
what shall we do then?
-
• #41
No, I meant the Giant is like the Peugeot, but with gears.

You are more than welcome to my old heap, the yellow Holdsworth, blue mudguards, rack.
Its big and fixed, 48x18 and the promenade bars.
And its Brixton Hill. I cant go tonight as I am babysitting the kids and after Oxford ride last weekend, 35 miles and 60 riders it will take a while but still worth it.
Not offended by a rejection, see you at South drinks otherwise. -

Drill a hole through the seat tube and seat post, place a bolt through and put a nut on the end.
