I am but a newbie like you, but surely only you can answer those questions (which you have already done)
i have to say tho i think it has a really nice ride quality and i think, with your insights and considering it's a commuting machine, i don't feel the £800-odd was too badly spent.
So I'd say in this case, don't listen to this bunch of cunts

if you love your cannondale, that's all there is to it, just go and enjoy riding it (plus most of the stuff I said may not be entirely correct mind).

umatic1000, nevermind Archie Pelago, he knew that you couldn't have been aware of his dad's ailment. You didn't do it on purpose. A simple "sorry" would be enough. Don't try too hard to make friends on here. Most of us, like me, are cunts, and the rest are arseholes. Choose your group and just join in.
If you ride a single-speed or a fixed bike, you don't have to try to fit in. You have already fitted in, with a fucking great bunch of misfits. Me included.
Cheers me dear. -

This shows the tightness of clearances and height of bottom bracket of track bikes.
Compare to other photos of single speed bikes, and the differences become obvious.

The Capo will be stiffer than the steel bianchi. CAAD frames are stiff as fuck.

What we need is a big cock to go round fucking all these cunts and arseholes.
I'll start a poll... Or a list...

If y'all had £800 to start a bike from scratch, what would you do as a good alternative to an upgraded Capo?
-
• #68
If I had £800 I'd buy a Giant Bowery '84 and spend a couple of hundred quid upgrading the cranks, bars, stem, seat and brakes (oh, that's not much different to what you've done)

that's actually a pretty fit looking bike

Custom made frame, such as bob Jackson forexample and slowly built it up from there.
-

how much are the jackson frames? for custom built that is.....
-
• #72
off the pegs, it's £345 for a standard frame, but a full custom frame (made to measure, so it fit better on you), I don't know.

so i'd imagine £500-odd with a fork? sounds reasonable but i'm not familiar with this 631 tube-set. my custom mtb frame is 853 but that was a lot more expensive than the jackson. is 631 like a mid-range road pipe or something?

umatic1000, you're talking about MTB, even if the frame is light it still quite heavy with all the component needed on the MTB.
a fully built reynolds 631 frame fixed wheel bicycles is still lighter than an fully built 853 frame MTB, at least that what I think.
dunno really, other that doesn't have a curvy seatstays tend to have a very sloped top tube (like the specialized langster).
