  • You Germans are a strange bunch. FACT

It doesn't have to mean 'shopping around'. It can mean something like 'taking a lazy walk'.

  • A cowboy walks into a German car showroom, a salesman comes over to him, the cowboy tips his hat and says "Audi".

    As you were.

  • It doesn't have to mean 'shopping around'. It can mean something like 'taking a lazy walk'.

Google translates says it means "shopping around" and that is good enough for me. Even if it means going for a lazy walk, why are you taking a lazy walk with anyone's mother? A good robust walk or a cycle ride must be more appropriate.

I'm sure it means to stroll. There even is a polish word (from ze german) "bumelant", which means a bum, someone lazy and unemployed :-)

    Yes, "Bummelant" in German.

  • One of these houses was featured on an early series of grand designs.

    Just sharing.

  • Ich nichten lichten!

Fuck, I said that to myself just today when it started pissing down. I say it a lot.

  • I like to be spoken at in German...

And their we have it folks, the real reason for the second world war. The Polish were expressing their appreciation for the German language and then the Germans got a bit carried away.

    Sorry if I missed something.

  • Good insight, Nhatt. Can we get your view on why the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbour next?

  • Peter, you've lost the news!

Peter, next time you cross the road, don't bother looking.

  • The Japanese got a bit narked because the US had adopted sushi but decided to invent the inferior 'Carifornia Roll'.

  • My favourite: "Alles hat ein ende, aber die wurst hat zwei."

    Sorry if I missed sumlaut.

  • My favourite: "Alles hat ein ende, aber die wurst hat zwei."

    Sorry if I missed sumlaut.

"Alles hat ein Ende, nur die Wurst hat zwei."

(If you want it to scan.)

Oh, and just in case you might want to reconsider it being your favourite:

YouTube- Stephan Remmler - Alles hat ein Ende nur die Wurst hat zwei

    Ah, German jollity ...

  • Peter, next time you cross the road, don't bother looking.

He said I don't like it but I have to along with it.

Ever had macadamia nuts? They are awesome, and as the only thing to come out of Hawaii (Besides pineapple, which is a negligble fruit) that would be interesting to anyone, naturally the Japanese wanted a piece of the action.
Can you name one Japanese nut? Exactly.

  • ahem. Taken from their website,

" You will most likely find heartnuts growing in northern states, Canada and Europe."

I think this might run deeper than anyone thought.

  • It was the best I could come up with. I'd send the fleet, if I had one.

Goes to get duck from the bath

  • Japanese walnuts

From the same page that Andy linked to and Nhatt selectively quoted. :)

  • I know! And they don't seem to mention them growing in Japan...but they do mention that they grow in Europe...you know, like...Germany.

I smell a conspiracy, Mister Schick.

  • No, it's just that this forum is full of nutters. Completely by coincidence. Nothing to do with bike riding.

(Phew. I think I've thrown her off the scent now.)

  • The Germans, at the centre of more conspiracies than you can shake a schick at.

  • Shaken Schick syndrome.

Remember kids, a Schick is for life, not just for christmas.
