  • Like i said earlier.... going to paris for a ride seems a wicked idea....aug. is not good for me but sept sounds alot more like it!!!

So the other dates seem cool with me.....hope we can do this...
who's binging the video camera lol this thing will need to be documented lol

  • i cant make aug 22-24.

but still up for it another time. october ?

  • i had been ignoring this adventure as the dates were not good for me. Sept could be good and i'd be def up for filming.

  • Not going to be able to make this now. I'm poor, what can I say I work in a bike shop.

    Maybe another time though.

    8. Claus

    9. Andy (will cycle from Brighton and meet you all in Newhaven for the 6.00 ferry)

    10. Cuppa T (alex)

    11. m-xl (i'm in with andy...)

    12. hillbilly (to poor to even ride there. I'm out)

    13. Lewis (havent checked my days off but so far im in!)

    14. Chris Crash

  • I'm in France when you guys are in Paris so will look at options of a rendezvous. I need some jazz club cigar action in my life!

  • I can't do the 22-24th but if it happens later on, I'm in.

I'd ride there from Dieppe with the other Brightonians.

  • Could do September if it happens then.

  • i just got back from a weekend in Paris to watch the last stage of le Tour, and we took our bikes on the Eurostar.

We had a great time riding around Paris: wide roads, heaps of cycle lanes, bus lanes, courteous drivers... and of course the place is fucking scenic.

taking bikes on Eurostar is easy and free, as long as your bike is in a bike bag.

    a recommended adventure.

  • It is very likely that I will now be able to do this. Either on the planned dates or in September. Going on Holiday earlier than excpected this year.

I will be up for riding all the way there

Great hey! I watched it on TV as was back in London, all on my front doorstep :-(

  • sorry anyone know what's happening with this? did it get cancelled or are some people still going?

  • looks like it went very quiet. still have to be in Geneva Sunday afternoon but arranged for other means of travel, not going via Paris by bike. would still be up for it later in September

  • LFGSS L2P Fail.

Corny, you still gonna ride over anyway?

  • there are 5 or so of us going from Brighton on the 27th sept, getting the 1am ferry across, coming back on monday on the eurostar.

should be very funny, really looking forward to it. i can post our eurostar return references if anyone wants to book and come with us.

also - would be great to meet up with some people in Paris - there are a few people over in paris on this forum, non?

btw - the eurostar was about 44 + 20 for the bike (on the same train).

  • was having troubel booking the bike on andy, might yet have to try and get a bike bag in paris,

any other takers? might be worth starting a fresh thread with the right date

How come you had to pay for the bike, if it is in a bike ag, there should be no problems putting it on the eurostar.I travelled from th South of France to London 2 weeks ago, and had no problems with having to pay extra for the bike!

    hey mdizzle.

we don't have bike bags - would be too much to carry cycling from brighton!

so the bikes are going on the same train as us but in the goods van... we hope! kelvin just got told that he couldn't book his bike on it, because it was the last train of the day, but we have bike reservations for that train so we're hoping they haven't f*cked up.

  • sure it was just a jobsworth last night going to call again in a minute if not gonna have to learn how much for a bike bag en francais

  • spoke to another bloke at eurostar, problem solved, apparently we've just got to speak to the gaurds whether they will let us get our bikes straight from the train rather than the office.

    So we're on

    do we need a list?!?

    1. m-xl
    2. andy
    3. gaspingkai
    4. phil moore (non-forum - will be riding a filmore)

  • im in but i need train details so i can book my ticket, or if paul is coming too we can do it together.....paul?

  • sweet deal!

kelvin and elvis have the details... speak to kelvin because he had a little bit of hassle getting his bike on board. sounds like it'll be fine tho (if it isn't, we're all fcked!)

  • yeah got tickets, anyone after the details pm me....

so any tips for bike friendly hostels/places to stay in paris?
