Epic fail

All the g40's Ive ever seen have been for tubs. You can get clincher versions, but its still a very skinny old rim.

The guy who sold it says he had the same problem. Didn't think it worth mentioning
that the tyres are prone to exploding.

its because of the skinny rims.
dont use such big tyres, or use rims that are suited to larger tyres.

Im having a similar problem with my 25c schwalbe marathon plus on my front hplusson.
tyre keeps popping off the rim at the same spot... then inner tube explodes.
I change tube and make sure tyre is seated properly and make sure I dont pinch it
tyre pops off again, I change rim tape and put a normal 23c gatorskin on it, tyre pops off rim in same place.....
rim defect? or me defected?

is there a dent in the rim? or something jammed in the clincher part of the rim so the bead does not sit correctly?

The rim is perfectly true. i need to check the clincher part. that would explain it if it is! thanks

Mavic G40 are 19.8mm which are for up to 25mm tyres really.
With the tyres you're using at the moment you'd need 24mm rims.

What inner tubes are you using? The 28mm and up ones? Perhaps it's all too baggy and gets pinched?

The last one to explode was 700 X 25/32 C
