Photogs are bastards. When I raced mountain bikes they would position themselves at a known crash spot (normally a big puddle that would have a massive pot hole in it) on purpose so as to get a crash money shot..

I recall that the rider often 'walk' the route so he can able to analysis the best line and figure out any bad spot that might hindrance him (not allowed to ride it until it's time to race).

I can't see how it's the photographer's fault.

My comment was more in humour with regard to a photographers cunning in positioning themselves in a prime spot for some nice action shot (all be it of someone crashing).

Of course you can walk a course but I'm talking about 19 years ago when mountain biking was more like single track cyclo x so waling a 7k course wasn't really an option and I wouldn't have walked through a puddle to see if it hid a hole..
