If you ask kids what they wanna be when they grow up, do any of them say "I want to be a landlord"?
-
• #6258
No, but alot of them say 'property developer'.
-
• #6259
really?
-
• #6260
Yeah, my 11 year old brother does. I'd suggest it's something to do with the number of TV programmes we have on the subject now.
-
• #6261
how does one become said property developer? do i just need to get ripped, fake tan n do houses up like a indian palace?
-
• #6262
Pretty much, yeah. Actually no, you just need a bit of a capital and not be an idiot. Plenty of people do it on those TV programmes by working til their 30s, saving, re-mortgaging and buying a new place, cycle of development starts. Easier said than done I'd guess. Would need good job. Would need to know DIY. Or rich Dad.

Yep, they always make it look so easy. You buy a cheap flat on an auction, spend a grand on magnolia paint and new sink, ask brother in law to help laying the carpets down, find some professionals who are willing to pay huge deposit. And done!
I feel personal satisfaction when I see those twats who worked in the City for 20 years fail as developers. No mate, rewiring the house and putting up tiles in the bathroom need real skills. And that cheap villa in Tuscany is cheap for a reason too. -

look at any text big enough and you'll be able to drag some code out. See also: the Bible code, Chariots of the Gods (not really code, but still barking)

Read the article in question and tell me where he's made mistakes in his interpretation. Then we can perhaps label it a fail.

i take it that's in relation to the plato thing? there's some guff about it on the "any questions" thread. the schickster and horatio are going to wrestle to see who's right.

ha, I'm not convinced at all. I just find it... not very useful to dismiss things out of hand like this.
(I'm reading the article now).

Look hard enough for a pattern, anywhere, in anything, and you will find it. What a load of bollocks.
