"get back"
He sounds like Arnold...She was asking for it.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yBICj64ak0k
I hope thats sarcasm, she hardly deserved to be backhanded in the face, whacked around the back of the legs, by some stupid cop.
I saw some of the UAF march in Leeds last year, the police are way too easily provoked, power trip if you ask me.
The only thing thats funny about this is the officers name 'Delroy Smellie'

District Judge Daphne Wickham found no evidence had been provided to show use of the baton was not measured or correct.
She said: "It was for the prosecution to prove this defendant was not acting in lawful self-defence.Since when is it acceptable to defend oneself physically when being attacked verbally?

If she'd done the same thing to the copper would she have got off?
-

He thought the cup she was holding was an offensive weapon? This after he has already clocked her several times and yet he still clobbered her with his night stick - Shocking, truly there is no fucking justice

I agree he may have been a little heavy handed but she was confrontational. Aggressively pushing forward and then it looks like somebody else (just out of shot to the left) pushed him.
I think the pushing (which isn't obvious to see in the video) is what caused it to get out of hand slightly.
The instructions seemed simple enough, just "get back", Simples!why should she, she is at a peaceful protest which is (barely) allowed her under British law, those police put themselves right in the middle and were clearly acting in a very agressive manner. Since when have you had to jump whenever the police say so or risk being beat with a metal pole?!
I was there at the G20 protest the day before and the police were taking the fucking piss. had we been let out when we wanted then there would have been no windows smashed on the empty RBS, no bottles would have been thrown. had the police let me out to get a fucking drink of water when i had wanted then we would not have had to push them out of the way to leave. They handled the whole 2 days of protest in a menner which shows their true hatred of protests. -

I agree with Lessman.
The other day my wife was trying to help me do up my tie, I asked her to please stop, she wouldnt, I asked again, she wouldnt. These are very simple instructions and she just wouldnt stop so I was forced to punch her in the stomach and then knee her in the face when she was doubled over in pain.
There was no other way I could have handled it, she was being really pushy and getting in my personal space, I felt like she was gonna do up my tie the wrong way. The only option was to beat her.

I did say I thought he was little heavy handed.
but I still feel she was not totally innocent she knew what she was getting herself into. Just like sorethroat's wife.Yeah basically, she was innocent of genuine provocation, but she most likely knew that what she was doing would nevertheless provoke unnecessary violence. That doesn't mean she wasn't innocent, and that the response was wholly disproportionate. If she didn't want a slap she should have known better. If she wanted to make a point about police being egotistical lairy cunts, then she very much suceeded.
They can slap you about for any reason, so they will. She knew that.

The government's reponse to this e-petition - We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to introduce driving ban and phone confiscation, if not car confiscation, for drivers caught using/holding mobile phone - potentially lethal weapon. (3,654 signatures)
"The Government is aware of the road safety risks caused by the use of mobile phones whilst driving. This is why it introduced a new offence specifically prohibiting the use of hand-held mobile phones, in addition to the well-established general offence of failing to exercise proper control of a motor vehicle.
The penalties for these offences are already significant. For a prosecution, courts have the power to disqualify an offender from driving, for which there is no upper limit, or to impose three penalty points and a fine of up to £1,000 (£2,500 if driving a bus, coach or goods vehicle). Alternatively, the offender may be offered the option of a fixed penalty notice with three penalty points and a £60 fine.
The Government is not convinced that the introduction of further penalties at this stage would create a more effective deterrent. In particular, should this involve confiscation of a mobile phone, it is more than likely that many offenders would simply acquire a replacement phone as soon as possible, whether or not they went on to use it whilst driving."
Un-fuck-ing believable. If I hadn't got this email yesterday I would have thought it was an April fools joke. That last paragraph must have been made up my some junior researcher still drunk from the night before. Surely the only explanation?!
