At primary school we had a new teacher come in and shake the whole place up. Honestly fantastic, put a lot of us on the right path. In later life he became an ofsted inspector, and then, well… I imagine he's had to change career now.

Epic fail or good news for at least being caught

We had a music teacher, Mr Wright who was a bit shit and strict and not much fune and got called peado Wright. I always imagined it was because that's the kind of thing kids do but no, came out around ten years ago that he had infact been being a peado with girls in his music classes in the 70s. I came across him (I'd make a joke if it weren't an incredibly inapproprite context in which to do so) during the mid-late 90s.

Hhmm wonder if I went to School with him, I’m originally from Sandhurst and he’s a couple of years younger than me. Name doesn’t ring any bells, do recall somebody in the year or 2 above murdered their Mum and then sat in the Jolly Farmer pub and got arrested, two brothers I knew well from school also got arrested and banged up after an incident in the Jolly Farmer pub too. Good thing that pub doesn’t exist anymore!

Another swinging the lamp tale. 8 years ago we executed a search warrant for the child protection unit on a Saturday mid morning just a couple of miles from my house. Apparently it had to be executed that morning for reasons. It happened calmly, we didn't knock the door of it's hinges which was a good thing as his kids were having a birthday party with associated guests. No one had prior knowledge of this so it was a bit shitty but we kept it discreet until kids were collected and his wife and kids went to relatives. Again it was grooming and child pornography. These people are absolute scum and come from all walks of life.

My father-in-law was chief scientist at AWE. I imagine he fell a sleep there a lot too.

Not a teacher, colleague or IT support staff, but my mate was charged and convicted of having images of kids on his computer.

Seems like everyone has one of these... this was our school wrongun, not as bad as some of these but he was still the one that everyone called 'pedo', and apparently for good reason as we found out a few years later.

We seem to have grown up surrounded by paedophiles. Some jailed, some arrested but charges never stuck, some teachers 'allowed to leave the school quietly so as not to spoil its good name with bad publicity', a neighbour who'd phone and sleaze my sister anytime he knew she was home alone. Feel very lucky that, other than some grooming by an older lad that never came to anything, I escaped.

Worst instance was when a friend's dad was arrested (and did long time, had a trail of victims around Ireland), the police made his then-wife phone round her friends to ask if he'd touched any of their kids. We were, in turn, quizzed by our parents on it. Even in the context of this being Northern Ireland in the mid-80s, that is a tremendously fucked up and unprofessional approach.

oh and have just remembered this fucker - the catholic priest who did my dads funeral and two of my brothers weddings. got 22 years

Oh, a mate of my dad (football acquaintance who we'd bump into in the pub and have a chat) is currently serving time for child rape which happened 40years ago.
