My mum just got back from her AA meeting where they very kindly had gotten her some lovely flowers and a small box of fancy chocolate truffles for her birthday.

she opens the box and takes first pick, offering me one, I pop it in my mouth and bite into it and am greeted with the immediate taste of booze. check the ingredients and listed last... Alcohol.

to be fair to the group the flower shop website makes no mention of alcohol anywhere on the product page.

Yesterday I lost my wedding ring. I have shed over two stone in weight and it had become loose.

I had spent some time in the garden, but it’s autumn and there are leaves everywhere. The other place it could have ended up was in a batch of sausages I made, perhaps after chilling the meat before grinding it fell into the mincing machine. In which case I will be eating the most expensive droewors in history and I have become an unwitting disciple of Salt Bae.

Local dectectorist club will likely be happy to help in return for a charity donation. Including scanning your sausage meat. Fnar.

Sometimes the local metal detecting club can help out with this (the garden not the sausages).

Hammer the sausages into your lawn

Used to use proper mincing machines a lot when working as a teenager in a butchers, not sure a ring would pass through the machine it would be more likely to just end stuck to the mincing plate. YMMV (initial M being mincer). Get the ring resized as well, mine went down six sizes after losing a shed load of fat and pinged off in a slight fight one day. Mine has the wedding date inscribed inside it but that was no problem and you can’t tell it’s been resized.
