I could rephrase that; murders and road deaths in London are at similar levels. But we dont have people calling for a ban on cars.

You might find a few on here, if you look beyond the car appreciation thread. The problem is that cars, like shotguns, never killed anyone, it's the imbecile at the controls that does that.
