I really enjoyed cycling in NYC massive wide roads long straights some great bridges with cycle lanes and the west side cycle path that goes the length of Manhattan and you can go on to the bronx and out to the next county, the only big draw back is the lorries busses 4x4's are all that much bigger !

I had a Brompton on 3 month loan on a try-before-you-buy scheme and I always regret not taking it to nyc when I went there.

I took a brompton over when working there, got a lot of interest. Different cycling there but the big long cycle lanes were fun. I was surprised by how the cars all stopped to avoid left/right hooking the cyclists. I seemed to be the only cyclist going round the outside of the turning cars.
