Grease nipple FTW

Good point, well made.

I thank you.

The fail is that a the exposure of a nipple is considered obscene. Never understood that
It's not considered obscene, that word has a particular meaning and nippular exposure isn't it. The 'NSFW' thing comes from a feminazi propaganda campaign against calendars, although I'm pretty sure
the Millie Tant tendencyClare Short would consider lingerie and bikini images used for office decoration contribute to a culture where sexual harassment is condoned, the (US) internet has pretty much settled on the nipple as the arbitrary dividing line. As a result, VS have built an entire industry on producing wank mags for American male office workers which won't get them disciplined if found in their drawers. -

What's with the use of the term feminazi on here lately? Beyond the political implications, it makes the user sound like a total moron - which seems to be the opposite of your raison d'etre on this forum, MDCC.

Which word would you prefer for people who use feminism as cover for repression through censorship? The terms gained currency because it accurately sums up a small lunatic fringe of misandrists.

One that identifies the people you are trying to highlight (and not a fictional character), rather than one invented by the fringe right to discredit an entire movement.

Post edited, happy now?

1) I'm not here to censor you - feel free to sound like an idiot if you like.
2) I was talking about the term feminazi, not your reference to a cartoon character (which, btw, does loads to add credibility to your opinions). -

I think the problem with "feminazi" is that it paints anything feminist as some weird, extreme position. Stick with "small lunatic fringe of misandrists."

Stereotypes do not arise out of thin air; Alex Masterley, Gary Bloke, Garfield, and yes even Millie Tant are only amusing because they exhibit traits which exist in real live people (or cats).

Or perhaps the problem is that feminazis want you to think that, because it serves their agenda to paint their critics as critical of the whole idea of egalitarianism, when what critics of feminazis really object to is extremism.

Well maybe a rebranding is in order. By using the term feminazi you would be helping this agenda of which you speak.

Misandrist would probably do, feminazi is like calling a misogynist a penifascist or something. It might be slightly amusing in a way but is basically slinging insults around and takes away from any valid point you might have while making it confusing as to who it is you are actually talking about.

I like the term penifascist though.

Do we have a thread where descriptive lexicographers can have a punch-up with prescriptive ones without derailing other threads? :-)

"When I use a word,' Humpty Dumpty said in rather a scornful tone, 'it means just what I choose it to mean — neither more nor less." -

Congratulations, then. You're either a horrible human, or you've just outed yourself to be below the intelligence level of Rush Limbaugh, who, although willing to use the word to political ends (and with the awareness that there are political implications attached), was also aware that limiting the perception of its, and his, use had an end.

Is it only men so far who are offended by the term femmanazi?
Or are you all speaking for your women folk?
-
• #18650
I'm not offended by it, it just seems a poor choice of words. You penifascist.
The fail is that a the exposure of a nipple is considered obscene. Never understood that, seems to be mainly an english speaking world phenomenon. As long as nipples and orifices are covered, women are considered fully clothed. But soon as a nipple goes on show, it is ermagerd, NSFW this is porn!
Why are womens nipples any more obscene than men's nipples also?
If I was one of those female celebrities, I would show up at red carpet event with a full body gown, with nipple holes cut out.
