Couldn't find it on the web site, here is most of the Telegraph story. BLB a `legend' in the fixed gear culture ....
Dec. 3 (Telegraph) -- Swedish retail giant H&M is teaming up with Brick Lane Bikes to design good-looking, eco-conscious functional cycling gear for men. High street chain H&M is the king of collaborations, but when its creative adviser Margareta van den Bosch told the Telegraph that we wouldn’t see a luxury union (most recently with the likes of Versace and Maison Martin Margiela) until November 2013 – she kept news of this latest partnership-on-wheels firmly
locked up.
The retailer has today announced a capsule collection with the London Mecca for single-speed cycles: Brick Lane Bikes. The 11-piece range will hit stores globally on March 7 2013, and prides itself on being functional without edging into MAMIL territory (to the uninitiated, that’s the Middle Aged Man in Lycra epidemic sweeping the nation's streets). But how did an introduction between the Stockholm-based giant and the edgy, independent shop come about? “They [Brick Lane Bikes] haven’t been around for such a long time but they are a legend already in the fixed gear culture”
Petter Klusell, a designer at H&M explains.
The need for cycling gear with great city style for both on and off the bike is something Brick Lane Bikes creative director Chis Christoldo has felt has been “missing” for some time. “A lot of us want to step off the bike and still feel ourselves without having to change our cycling gear” he says. The icing on the cake for this collaboration, which features checked shirts, brightly coloured T-shirts and waterproof jackets, is that all the pieces are made from sustainable materials as part of H&M’s Conscious work.
