• I'm not sure about 'enhancing' the court with rounded corners...

It's not officially our court. They sometimes play football there and I reckon it might piss some people off.
I can see it getting ripped off...

I'm all for working to keep the courts clean and would love to get some lights up but adding the corners might be pushing it too far no?

We should get approval from the council.

  • yes indeed. working today sucks.

ha, you get moody on the internetz when you dont wanna be at work :)

  • We should get approval from the council.

this seems like a job for the Association (LHBPA)...

  • dun dun dun!!!

  • you've called them already pique? nice one.

  • Post code wars again then - N16 = losers !!

E2 rules. If it ain't east of da A10 - forget it. (apart from Downham)

  • After polo last night, I was thinking about angled corners. If we could make triangular pieces that fit in the corners we could just use them when we play and they're not permanent fixtures. Kinda like the cones...
Not as effective as rounded corners in keeping the ball moving but a lot better than plain corners.

Pique, yes, I do that a lot actually.

  • "In Paris They" ... did something very similar for the tourney. It made a massive difference. Very simple but effective.

  • mike, good idea. Maybe we can make rounded corners that are mounted on frames that we can just pick up and put behind the wall in the "piss free area"

  • Sounds wicked G.

    I'll help if needed.

Is it polo time yet? Come on!

    I need a job!

  • yeah, something like this, some 2x2 and some thin ply. obviously it would be pushed right into the corner.

  • You may need something to weigh them down. Guaranteed that people will be crashing into/riding against them.

  • possibly, some ash blocks, or sandbags. I'm not planning on making them very big, so they shouldn't get in the way.

    POLO

  • Reminds me of my younger days trying to build a quarter pipe...

  • Or lots and lots of blue tack!

  • MMmm i am thinking of extra large versions of these.. sit in the corner and whenever a ball touches.. BLAM straight back out.. could take a bit of engineering, cost a lot of money, be really dangerous.. and possibly not the best idea for making it a fair game. but i am gonna roll with it

  • what time is today polo?
gabes I have your stuff in my bag, and please remember to bring me the caliper

  • maybe poss be there at 6.30 toddy boy.. Anyone got any old used mallet heads?

  • There's one in piss alley.

  • It's no longer known as that!

  • Oh yeah. Um, there's one behind the wall where people used to piss, but now don't because that's gross. GROSS!

  • ;-)

So I'm gonna be there at 6:30.
    Sipping on a cold beer.
    Pondering over polo.

  • is it at downham or mitch tonight?

  • MMmm i am thinking of extra large versions of these.. sit in the corner and whenever a ball touches.. BLAM straight back out.. could take a bit of engineering, cost a lot of money, be really dangerous.. and possibly not the best idea for making it a fair game. but i am gonna roll with it

...and instead of goalies we have giant flippers that someone controls courtside?
    W - I - N!

  • CAn someone throw a drill and bits in their bag? i just need to lighten my mallet head a wee bit, so the big the drill bit the more beer I'll give you.
    :)
