I think if there's a planned team night later in the week, you shouldn't play any team games on a throw-in night. If there isn't one planned in the near future, then maybe a 15 minute game is ok, as long as everyone agrees.

Bump. Time to do some sweeping again at Mitch. Bill, is the broom at Downham?
Hah!

Or maybe time them? Will definitely up the ante and perhaps make it more watchable?
after explaining how we play matches to the guys at work, one chap was all "so, you don't time your matches like football then?" or even like pony polo. i know we impose time limits on knock-outs in tournaments etc, but has anyone tried finding the optimum time and having a game of two-halves?

Sorry Gabes, I'm with you about team games on throw-in nights but after Oxford I really want to get some games in with Matt and Iain so Berlin isn't such a waste. We asked around and didn't get a 'no' so figured it was ok. To be fair though, counting that one, I got 3 games and I think Iain and Matt both only got 2 games in. I reckon 2-3 games was the avg last night for most people?
-
• #5006
yeah i understand why you wanted to get a game in, totally. Problem is, we're all too bloody polite, I didn't really want you to play a team game, but i said "yyyyeah" anyway, as did, I guess, a few others.
Anyway, teams this thurs and possibly some team games next weds at downham/mitch (before we fly thurs morning)?

and, yeah, the throwins last night were long games too, generally. So I guess 2 was avg.

Last night, the team game at the end was annoying. I don't think you should play team games unless it's a team night. All of us wanted to play one more game, and having only got to play 2 games all night it really sucked. We stood around, not even watching as the game dragged on into the 40 minute zone and the lights went out.
Shit way to end the evening.
Sorry dude, but everyone there wanted to play one more game, and a lot of people would have gotten fucked whether there was a team game or not. It wasn't a problem with a fixed team game, it was a problem with too many people.
Mike, mat and I all sat three out three games in a row to make that game happen. We asked if we could play when a game was going around 8.30, and then we made sure that every single person (including those in the 8.30 game) got to play again before we played -- about half of you got to play two games before the team game happened.
I only played two games that night, and I was there for over two hours. We sat through some 40 minute throw-in games that night.

There were 18 players there on Tuesday, that was the problem.

Maybe we should stick to 3 goals during the weeknights? Or time them?
-
• #5025
3 goals when there are more than x players.
x = 12?
ah ah the glory days of bombay TV films. Never seen this one - excellent
