They are good guys who do a lot for LPC. If you don't like change then go drink somewhere else. I had a great time last night. The owner and bar staff are really good to us too. this is a public forum and less cool when someone says fuck those guys. Not even less cool just plain rude.

They took an awesome local pub with a lot of character and beat the character out of it by installing cookie-cutter decor ordered out of a catalog. And if my information about the circumstances under which they purchased the pub is correct, then they lied to me about that. Fuck. Those. Guys.

What do they do for the LPC other than beg for our business?

Plus if you buy a pub called The Orwell in London and change the name you are a fucking idiot.

I have also heard the guy talk about how they explicitly tried to get rid of some of the old clientele because there were not the type of people they wanted at their pub.

What do they do for the LPC other than beg for our business?

they let me keep a broom from my house there so we can play games at Mitch with a slightly less dirty court, they let me bring my bike in which means I've never had anythimg stolen off it whilst in there, they kept me warm and drunk throughout winter if required. Pretty much like before but a different selection of booze. I once tried to bring my bike into the pembury as I had lock fail...I forgot other pubs don't like that when confronted by an angry chef! But yeah this boring..let's arrange polo instead of shit talking pubs..

Hops and Glory is not and never will be The Orwell. We all miss The Orwell and what it did for polo. The new food menu is not bad either, the ham cheese toasty was bangin and it's only a 5er.

Joe was talking about introducing a polo discount very soon, maybe a food/drink deal for players too.

Also, dont forget they still have the LO 2011 tournament boards in the basement.

It's not the orwell, but it is a damn good pub.
