Yep, bought them yesterday. The straps are staying on my bike, they shall henceforth be called "wizard straps" and will secure a win at the worlds next year. Sorry B, you can either buy them for £50 now (good investment), or I'll buy you a pint at a later date.

To grit or not to grit?
What are people thoughts on gritting Mitch? Will it gritting followed by sweeping result in more/worse ice?

Gritting will get rid of the ice for a long while (until the salt level in the water on the court gets diluted enough for it to freeze again)... but it will leave a slippy/skiddy sand-like surface if just left there.
I'd grit it lightly, then sweep the grit up after 5/10 mins, then be prepared to repeat the process if the weather continues.

I mentioned gritting the court last night. Problem is that the surface becomes shitty and covered in crap plus everyone's bikes start to disintegrate from the salt.

This.
Do not salt polo courts, please! It'll suck for everyone, but maybe those of us with stripped frames a bit more.

Ed, I think I said I'd goal ref for you guys tonight, but I've got to be at the vet for 6. So may not make it. You guys good for refs?

• #13148
Max said he'd come not sure who else is down, maybe JohnH too.
Anyone else up for reffing?

I'll ref still

Don't salt it. It'll mess up everyone's chains and bearings. Use grit - cat litter will do.
'but is it sticking?'
