All for strong women!
And to completely lower the tone (lighten the thread...) Roxy mention squirming at the mention of any term in reference to her private bits, having a thought a while over my morning hang over cure i can't think of a single one either!
It was a long night. Still is. I get all academic and "discursive" about things.
Hey Greasy Slag, what can't you think a single one of?

Also, right on to momentum - I tooka similar option myself although I'm far too much of an atheist, lefty, feminist to actually get married. :-)
Yeah I surprised myself a little bit - hopefully it's not the first step on a journey to becoming an immigrant-bashing Daily Mail reader!

I am a romantic. I told my girlfriend there is currently no tax advantage to getting married at the moment, add on the expense and it's just not worth it.

Agata, could you tell me your story about meeting under Waterloo Bridge? Can we go back to being excited and funny and light and giggle about actual bike porn?!??!?!?
You people can giggle as much as you like, but i certainly wasn't in a laughing mood waiting for "Steaming hot" CHUG_IT under Waterloo Bridge last night. It didn't help that i was covered head to toe in bike grease ( did i take it too far ?) rain was pouring down all over and some homeless guy was offering me a fiver for a blowjob. Men eh..
CHUG_IT baby, you were amazing. Shame about the police rolling up to disperse the crowds, but maybe next time we'll choose a less touristy place.

Very interesting thread. Strong women rock. Lord knows most of us straight men (especially the gobby ones, present company included) need a good hoof sometimes and someone who isn't going to put up with our bullshit.
On a slightly tangental but related note I recently saw original footage of the suffragettes march plus the woman who threw herself in front of the King's horse and was killed for her beliefs. Those women were seriously brave. And hard to believe that all this was to get the vote. It seems absurd now that they didn't have it in the first place. Reminds me of how women in some parts of the world are still getting treated like second-class citizens; ridiculous. Good enough to marry, good enough to bear children and run families but not good enough to have a valid opinion, FFS?!
Sorry, getting a bit carried away for a Friday morning, rant over. And breathe.

Ahh Tommy swoon. That attitude is so awesomely unromantic, I find it quite attractive.
If ever you become single...
And female...

What if you become female Lebowski? Would you consider it then?

XBabe, you weren't too bad either. Sorry about my lack of bike grease, by the sounds of it the smattering of beef dripping that I applied liberally to my body worked wonders.
in the heat of the moment I forgot to give you my number: 0800-DO-ME-BABY... call me.

Perhaps we need an Admirable Women thread, my no. 1 would be Aung San Suu Kyi.

Umm, hot sweaty alley cats by the Elephant and Castle roundabout?
DFL happens, that's what. Ho hum. puts apron back on DFL, baby!
re the rest of the discussion, it's interesting, but I'm not dipping my toe into this wasp's nest. Might get bike grease on it and then where would we be?

Why just straight men? I know plenty of gay people who need kicking into touch every now and again and wouldn't care if it came from a stong male or female friend.

Where indeed? Possibly in the land of David Mellor.

In the land of David Mellor, ex-Conservative Foreign minister (plus floozy)or David Mellor, crockery and kitchenwear god?
either may be appropriate...or not!

So you all have made me quite happy today. It's early, I'm sitting at someone else's desk waiting for work to do. Temping kinda rocks if you have distraction and/or the ability to tune out (which I don't which is why I'm here). I feel like we've come to an understanding here.
PJS- women will always talk to each other when you're not looking, one of the beautiful aspects of being good communicators.
However, I will continue to put my 2 cents in, get in trouble, get bullied, have people mad at me, apologize, not apologize, look back at things, get apologies from others, have people shoot me down, try to embarrass me, or have people honour me and encourage me, put more 2 cents in, repeat. I promise!
But that's hard, and like it or not, harder for anyone that's not a straight white male. And especially hard in a space that is especially dominated by one type of person that isn't you. I try not to act specifically "like a woman" or "like a man" nor "white" nor "straight" or anything else. However, lots of what I am and the parts of me that I really like come specifically from things that are bred in me because of those traits, whether through nature or nurture. So now that this is a friendlier more open thread can we get back to tales of bike-related sex and flirting? Bring this thread back up to the naughty heat it started with? I could tell you all about how Tramps gets when he wins an alleycat....or how about the first time I met SuperTed.... Or Agata, what was your favorite move of Chug_It's?

mmmm
Have just read the rest of the therad after replying to stelle, so apologies if the timing was off!
For what it's sowrth, I totally agree with roxy and chandra's comments up the top there and think they get a rough deal on here sometimes even though every woman on here that I have met has been incredibly cool, strong, independent and generally ace.
Having said that, I have to just try and laugh at all the sexist (and homophobic), pre-feminist urr-humour rather than let it wind me up. Probably easier for me, being a straight guy.
Also, right on to momentum - I tooka similar option myself although I'm far too much of an atheist, lefty, feminist to actually get married. :-)
