  • Do you think? I reckon it was the right thing to do.

All the rest of us look right muppets now, don't we though.

Apart from dogs. What a fascist. I bet he really does shave a swastika into his pubes every morning.

And then eat freshly-fried baby messenger brains for breakfast.

  • whether you like it or not me was still entitled to his opinion.to bully his until he removes it is shocking...i feel this place has dropped to a new low.

  • And then eat freshly-fried baby messenger brains for breakfast.

Sounds delicious, but how do you know which babies are gonna become mess....!!!!...couriers?

No one said he wasn't entitled to his opinion - ok, dogs was a bit abrasive, and so was I - and he got a public apology. Wasn't that the whole point?

  • Sounds delicious, but how do you know which babies are gonna become mess....!!!!...couriers?

If both parents are mouriers/cessengers, I reckon it'd be a pretty safe bet, don't you?

don't think anyone is saying ME didn't have a right to voice his opinion, its just that the majority of the posters on this thread, thought that he'd gone a step too far, too early, in posting his grievance here before airing them to Brixton cycles, I don't think it was bullying most of the posts on this thread are quite articulate about the process each individual thought ME should have gone through before resorting to posting up his feelings on the forum, he can take that anyway he wants really, Dale went a bit OTT, but thats Dale (obviously ME doesn't know Dale, but Dale's opinion and his way of expressing it is HIS, not everyone else in this particular thread. Personally I think ME expected a bit more sympathy than he got and the rally of support for Brixton cycles rattled him a bit. If one thing comes from this I'm hoping its that people take their grievances to the person/parties involved, before airing it on the forum.

  • i found the whole situation hypocritical...
there has been an immense amount of abuse/slatting directed at the likes of Barry Witcomb and BLB...but that was ok.
someone has a problem with BC service and expresses it in a way that was much more respectful and diplomatic then any of the complaints raised against witcomb and BLB but you guys get up in arms about it.
me expressed his issue with a service.to me that is a good thing.i plan to take all things raised into account when visiting my LBS...this is one of them.

  • Aidan, I totally agree with you about the hypocrisy of slagging BLB all ends up on here, and then taking exception to a complaint about BC.

I think that BLB get raw deal on here, but I said so earlier in this thread and several times in others.

  • FWIW, BLB are putting a h/set into one of my frames right now (actually done in under 2 hours), and Jan just helped me out with something that was preventing me from putting together my Merckx - for the price of £4 - which is pretty good customer service.

I like BLB, and I haven't really read all the threads, but it does seem to me that people are WAAAY too hard on them here.

Is there a way for BLB and LFGSS to resolve the problem? I hope so, cos I am seriously fed up of reading all the crap that gets posted about them.

  • And I have to say that the tags on this thread are f***ing disgrace too. Anonymous name calling is about as low as it gets, all the stuff about Ross is totally totally out of order.

Ross can be difficult, but speaking as someone that has a richly deserved reputation for being an obnoxious speccy-eyed twat (as the manageress of the Duke once described me) I doubt that any of the people who have posted those tags have done nearly as much for the fixie community in London as Ross.

  • And you can push off too, Tynan, you're just a flash git.

    ;-)

  • i don't know what's worse. this thread in general, the ross tags or bill using the word 'fixie'?

  • And you can push off too, Tynan, you're just a flash git.

    ;-)

    Basically, yes.

I hadn't noticed them and I completely agree. I got to know Ross when he was a messenger and I was a fakenger before the word had been invented. I first met him when he organised an alley cat and polo comp with wee scott. They were both superbly friendly to me then and have been ever since. He's done shit loads for the bicycle community in London and I think it's fucking disgraceful that people are being so rude anonymously. If you don't like him then at least be brave enough to use your fairly anonymous screen name to say so instead of being so fucking cowardly.

  • fair dues to Ross for sticking his head above the parapet and apologising -

personally I've only had good dealings with BC and think that they should be recognised for the co-op nature of the shop and their general attitude to lending out tools

    +1

also the not charging for doing the odd thing I don't yet have the tools to do and only take a second that most places would make you book in for.

  • re the tagging and flaming: this is dumb. There are fixed riders who buy from these shops who aren't on this forum; there are also loads of us on here who'd never dream of banging on about someone so vindictively and explicitly. This shit starts making it look like the whole "community" is a bunch of shitstirrers and the bike shops that we rely on to go to for parts and juicy slave bling will view us warily at best and as demanding, arrogant cunts at worst.. great for those of us who already have a shop they have built up a relationship with but for newer guys still building (I include myself) an obstacle to be overcome where none should exist.

I can't believe a guy has been mentioned by name on here and had pretty much a thread devoted to ruining his reputation (the bad comments always carry for more weight than the good ones). He must be either mortified or thinking "fuck this whole shit". Come on guys does anyone love to feel like that?

  • Oh, just realised who ross is, he's been nice and helpful to me in the past, despite the fact i'm an idiot who doesn't know what he's doing. In fact I'm really surprised that he has a reputation for being a bit difficult, he's been great the 3 or 4 times he's served me. Even told me a little story about how he won the messenger skidding championships on a particular tyre (specialised mondo I think?). It was indeed very fun to skid :)

  • I was one of the people who defended Me's opinion - he wasn't rude, he aired his grievances on here in a distinctly non-confrontational way. True, he should have talked to BC directly, but I guess he learned from his mistake. Top marks to Ross for posting on here, BC is a wicked shop and always has been.

That said, whoever has been posting these bullshit fucking tags should be ashamed of themselves. Honestly, you're pathetic. For fuck's sake, everyone. This forum has been invaluable to me and I've met a lot of great people through it, but what the fuck is this shit?

  • @ Roberto - What the fuck is that picture about? Some kind of target of hate? 'EVERYONE KNOCK HIM OFF HIS BIKE WHEN THEY SEE HIM'

Taking it a step too far. Get rid of it.

  • lots of testosterone flowing about.
    Swish swosh.
I Blame the saddles, make your balls get big and angry. Grrrrr

  • sammy i think it's just one of roberto's pictures of cyclists he includes with his posts sometimes. It doesn't look like ross, to my knowledge?

I think it's there more to remind us of what a cyclist looks like. Y'know, that thing that is the reason why we're on the forum? Something which seems to take second place to needless hostility or general bitchiness. Not directed at you, by the way! :)

  • 99 out of a hundred ... nobodys perfect. :)

  • are you all going to wash the sand out of your vaginas now or what?
