Congratulation on the birth of your daughter, Delilah Grace.

Competition for Miss.w?
-
• #654
I doubt she'll be spending much time here, so I think Nance is safe.
-
• #655
Probably for the best. I'd have hated for Miss Cavendish to have her cycling dreams crushed at so young an age.

Yes? The BBC just confirmed that he won last years tour, and the Vuleta in 2010 ...
Having won the Tour de France last year and the Vuelta a Espana in 2010, the Isle of Man rider is hoping to add a first Giro title.

so annoying
people forget he also won the Rugby Union European Cup with Harlequins
lazy journalism

Now: "Having won the Tour de France points title last year and the same category in the Vuelta a Espana in 2010, the Isle of Man rider is hoping to add a first Giro points title to his collection of Grand Tour successes."

I'm a fan of Cav, he has felt the power of The Claw...
...however...
... I did titter to see the lad as cross as a wasp at not winning today. Priceless.

He missed the red jersey by one point. That has got to hurt. No chance he'll be riding the whole Tour, is there?
-
• #661
Interviewd Cav today. Says no problem completing the Tour and the Olympic road race - "it's what we do". Many in Olypic road race will have completed tour.
-
• #662
He'll definitely want to grab some stage wins to keep that score ticking over but I think the Sky team will be mainly built around Wiggins, Eisel aside. I think the trade off was building the Giro team around Cav and a serious tilt at the red jersey which didn't come off. Missing out may fuel more desire for a second green, but I think he may have to do lone gunman style. If he looks like he has a chance of winning it before the race gets lumpy he may stick it out.

• #663
I expect he wanted Red, Green and Gold. He's not one for half measures is he?

Saw Cav on the back of a bus yesterday...

Love Cav

Still getting used to the novelty of having more than one Brit rider to choose from in the peloton these days, Cav is best until Wiggins wins Le Tour. Even better that neither of them are dull, Cav is hilariously narky post race if it hasn't gone his way & Wiggo's Paul Weller obsession is good for a laugh too. His comeback ride in the Vuelta last year was great to watch. Full marks to Cav for getting through the whole Giro, is this long-term preparation to make sure he's in with a chance at the Olympics?
-
• #667
Cav still the best? I'm going to say he is. He will be a greater legend of the sport (when looked at from a non Brit perspective).
-
• #668
Arguably he's the greatest sprinter of all time, so he probably remains the best rider, in terms of standings on the world stage, to come from the Isle of Man (and the UK).

I can't work out if this is a joke or not (I suspect it is, because the Sun reported it as fact) - it's funny, either way:

Who the fuck is Bugno?
-
• #671
It is a joke. The Sun won't be the first newspaper to be caught out by Cyclismas and their spoof articles.
-
• #672
It's a good one. Has anyone tracked down a link to the L'Equipe article where he was voted best sprinter ever, or know what the top ten was?

Go Cav!!!!!! To celebrate this monumental day for Britain my Dad (artist Jeff Parr) has discounted his Cav prints to £10 each plus P&P or I can pedal them over if you're close.
Have a look

It's a limited run so once they're gone they're gone!
Go Cav!!!!! -

after a recent trip to Belgium and Holland the gossip is that he's going to the new Quick Step.
I've heard from great authority that ^this actually happened. The deal to bring Cav to OPQ happened last year with 1 year at Team Sky to prep him for the Olympics.
Oh, and it's not just Cav.

Well done to all.
