seems some other bods decided to the ride the day after we did. except with punctures and lunch.

loving they had the same train trouble!

  • what, they ended up in guildford instead of clapham as well, did they?

  • read the story, pea brain.

  • read it, marrow-nose

  • Sorry about raising this thread from the dead (although it's nice to reminisce about what looks like a great ride.)

I am riding to Oxford on Thursday, with my brother and think that I'll nick this route.

Just as a heads up, whereabouts on the route were the big hills, or is it pretty rolling all the way along?

Neither of us will be brakeless though, so I hope we won't be emulating Greasy or dogs!

Cheers for any info from those who have ridden it.

  • why arent we trying to organise a forum ride to oxford????

  • Are you volunteering?

  • Because I am having some "quality time" with my brother.

But yes, it does seem like time to do this again.

  • Are you volunteering?

nein! ive never even been to oxford so im definitely not the guy to lead this thing. definitely up for it though, one sunday. has to be sunday!

  • I'll lead it, done it a couple of times, in the reverse direction- like the time i rode to Southies
My route is different as said before.
The boys had some issues with some descents- as said somewhere in the thread.
the hills aren't huge, some drag for a while too long.

in fact weather permitting I'll probably ride to southies again on monday....

  • Neither of us will be brakeless though, so I hope we won't be emulating Greasy or dogs!

man up and take a dive for the team FFS

  • I'd be up for an Oxford ride, too. Happy to help recce a nice route, too, if there's any need. Henry's only done it in the reverse direction, so I reckon that would mean that we'd end up back in London at some point. ;)

  • I haven't done Oxford yet. I was going to do the one on the 27th of June, organised by Mr Object.

  • 15 years ago... and I'm only just now uploading the ride file. At least I'm on top of my admin...

Any OGs still on here should have a poke through @flickwg pics.
