• bmmf, i think a rollapaluza hill team would be good. mikec is pretty handy! not sure about me though, need to drop some weight.

  • Saddle adjustment is never over, just watch Merckx in Sunday in Hell tinkering around with it for ages before and even during the race. It looks almost compulsive but especially the pitch angle is very difficult to get right.

    yeah, you fat cunt.

  • remember stompy commenting as we set off to dunwich last year that he thought my saddle was too high. it's not. we all find our own positions and i am busy on the saddle, but when i am walking my hips are busy too. could give birth to quintuplets without breaking sweat.

the harder the saddle the better in my opinion. it's taken me a while to find the one that works best and I love the Selle Italia Storika.

ride enough and your underside HTFUs. mine is now leather like the face of the late Jack Palance.

  • yeah, you fat cunt.

racing weight was 64-66 kgs, so yeah 70-71ish is heavy

  • I amazed & relieved you came out unscathed Dogs - I found you 15 foot into the trees without a scratch. you must be part man part squrriel
I was worried any serious damage and i'd have to go back to Gabes to build my wheel ;)

BMMF you are getting some stick on the Hills man, you are going to have to get out with Mike C for those sunday morning North hill rides.

  • tis all good. i was due a big crash, just happy it wasn't the same on regents st or something busy.

  • Gutted to have missed this guys - I was a bit sore Sat after Fri's drunken tumble and had a fair bit of stuff to do round the house.

Must've been the best weather yet. Sorry to hear about all the spills and arse troubles. I guess there's quite a difference between a commute and 5+ hours in the saddle (I wish I was doing more of the latter to comment).

Nibles, shame to have missed you. I think I'm gonna +1 on the saddle positioning, I have a swift ti on one bike and fizik arione on another and the latter is deffo more comfortable. However, I only really do long distances on the arione so even then it's prob not a fair comparison...

GS heal up quick. Hope to ride out with you guys soon.

  • yeah, shame you could make it, mousey -you could have joined in my road-rage mass ped killing spree on the way into oxford, i know you like a bit of that.

  • you're just saying that as he probably has the matching pink rapha top!!

plus he could've track stood at the intersections.

  • yeah. he certainly wouldn't have fallen over at the lights like you, eh

  • but yeah. Team rapha/condor needed some more representation

just like most things in the universe i was being pulled towards hippy's mouth ;)

And bloody hard work it was too. Took me just over 2 hours to complete the 35 mile route. Whoever says London is flat should definitely do this route. Especially the slog up East Heath Road. I'm definitely going to make this a regular (possibly weekly ride). It was a little traffic heavy in some places because I left it late. I can see myself setting off for about 8am in future. When are you be back in the saddle Pip. That is if you aint already?

  • Sounds like fun. I'll come along if welcome.

Not the kind of thing I'd do once I start my hill training proper, but it's off-season for me at the moment, so up for anything :)

You're not the first person to fall for my rugged good looks.

Cool. Going to try and get something going most weekends depending on other commitments of course.

  • just like moist things in the universe i was being pulled towards hippy's mouth ;)

    Get a room.

Get a room next to mine.

Rapsac likes a bit of aural oral.

  • but yeah. Team rapha/condor needed some more representation
Team Raphssos on longer rides methinks.

Dale, you're not a man known for his sartorial elegance but on this occasion it seems you had good reason for looking like you'd been dragged through a hedge backwards.

  • there was already too many Jameses on the ride, you would have caused a pile-up

  • Where are all the pics from this ride???

  • Confiscated by police as evidence in the nimhbus vs old lady case.

  • right.

she wasn't an old lady, she was about 35, and perfectly physically fit, so much so, in fact, that she was able to leap into the road from standing start.

  • she was fit... blonde... C cup...
