I might do this but on gears. I don't want to be riding fixed a couple of weeks before L2P. Any objections? It will also depend on how I feel Sat.
My legs have been pretty tired since Archer/Wessex/ChilternI don't mind, but why the reluctance to ride fixed. If you geared appropriately, and remembered that it's a recovery/conditioning ride, you'd be fine wouldn't you? Might even be good psychologically to get some non-thrashing-yourself/social time in the saddle...

Yeah but my issues are 1) specificity for l2p 2) Sorting out the clicking on my Ksyriums 3) I've not ridden the Soma for 3 months and I've not ridden 100k on it since Dunwich last year. Actually, when we did L2B I was on it. Hmm.. I can't remember if it needed tweaking or not.
If I rode the Soma it'd probably force me to slow down and be more sociable which would probably be helpful to me.. but if it's doing bad things to my joints at the 80k mark I'll be an unhappy chappy.
Yours,
Tired and confused. -

You're a cycling machine at the moment. You could do London to Oxford on a shopper without so much as a twinge.
-
• #230
Hmm.. a shopper. Why wasn't this suggested before?! Brilliant! :)

Yes. Why?
-
• #238
Is it 100k from Richmond? Wayne and I were just talking about the best approach for us L2P'ers.. gears or fixed, ride it or not, blah blah.. we be at the pointy end of lots of training so don't really want to do too much out of the ordinary.
-
• #239
I'd consider there-and-some-of-the-way-back...
-
• #240
so can I just confirm that's everyone setting out from Richmond Station at 10am - those cycling / training it across from other meet up points already arrived?
just want to get it clear, I've been hearing things about Hyde Park and Brick lane starts.

That's a good route Jonny, quite scenic too. Should stop for a pint at the famous 'Crazy Bear', Stadhampton

Nah, coach says gears. Given my recent knee/achillies issues I tend to agree.
It's okay though you hardcore fixed riders can tow me to Oxford.
I might just get drunk and sleep in instead. -
• #248
A couple of photos of the day. I was going to take more but the getting lost bit made me late.
-
• #249
In other news it is looking like I might have to bail and just meet you up here.
have to move my stuff and find a place to live and sort out like a million and 1 things.
