  • like a lot

  • Huge bike!

  • What the hell are you doing locking this up!? D-lock should go nowhere near a carbon bike.

    oops

  • Ive got mixed feeling about building a de rosa up myself. I like it alot but weirdly i also dont like it at all.

Paint the ENVE in the same colour as the bike maybe?

  • again; not a world tour winning feather weight frame is it?

  • I actually got a painted fork to match as well but i dont care much for it. And just paid a shop to fix the enve fork as it had too large steerer to fit on any headset i had. Perhaps it will suprise me if i build it tho. I can hope atleast :)

  • Took this out for a proper ride, rides great but not really sure what to do with it.

  • Back in biz with the Somec, couldn't find another CXP33 in 650c, so went for an Open Pro (radial lacing so I could use the old spokes)

  • Weight weenie

  • love it, a true beauty, needs a pista headset! (I think that one is gran sport?)...

there should be a somec fork crown panto porn thread....

  • It is a Gran Sport indeed! It came with the frame, commonly used back in the days as pista headset as the stack is very low (the same as the record pista).
FCI (Italian Cycling Federation) was equipping most of their track bikes with older Gran Sport HS as they were quite cheap and available everywhere!

But yes I agree, this would be much nicer :)

  • @apollo we should just open an appreciation page!

  • I so wanna somec.

    I don't think there's a fork porn thread.

  • Few grams off the extra steerer and spacers as first move :)

  • the pollo de rosa is lush.. but ild have second thoughts about the seatpost. i reckon it doesnt protrude the position where the toptube meets the seattube does it? couple of forumengers have had their seatpost extentions shearing off due to this and since i also reckon your a big boy the arm + weight will put a lot of stress on the lug possibly making it fail.
and that, would be a sad day..

  • Question regarding the On-One Kaffenback. It doesn't come with bosses on the fork for a lowrider rack. Could I get away with mounting a Surly Disc Trucker fork on it; keeping a somewhat orig fork trail?

Would it be a good idea to have panniers on a Kaffenback or would that mess with the ride?

  • i understand for aesthetic purposes you want to keep the aero post. maybe its possible to internally sleeve it and extend it? would cost dorrah but so did the frame. otherwise ild get a nice long seatpost for riding and the aero one for the pretty pictures

  • thanks, and good point, sobering thought...hmmmm....

  • I would only do this for aesthetics, it will probably end up weighing more, if i put a front brake on it and so on.

  • yep, I'll use the seatpost from this (zoom/no name) for now, you've scared me...(probably for the best, so thanks)..

deffo don't want this featuring in the indra'd thread lol

  • Do you know when was your frame was made? Production year might help to understand if it was designed to hold short seat posts or not, but have to say @Rodolfo point is well valid.

  • just ride it?
