Wow, you've just made my day, sir! I already gave up on finding out what the exact heritage of the frame is. I guess you managed to dig up my post over Google. Definetly well built, the downtube has a profil of a Columbus Megatube and the rest could be Reynoldy 853, the fork needs some gentile aligning and I already alligned the rear triangle with Sheldonds 2x2 method. I will definetly try to contact Mr Lee Cooper. Currently it is sitting quite sad in my living room untill I manage to get a proper fit on the compact geo (49 ST, effective 57 TT) and my knee gets better. The plan for the future is aero DA 7400 levers on a more classic bend bar and converted DA 7400 road cranks to allow a lower gearing. Thanks again Luke!

Put some omnomniums on the Nelson, and drops.
Feels great at the moment, the old bb was fucked so was time for an upgrade.
Might swap the miche chainring for a F5 lattice I have, not sure but very much enjoying commuting on it.

I've just taken delivery of a Straggler frame set, as a new commuter / light tourer. It's a fresh build that I already have most parts for, mostly spare parts, but i am building it some new wheels. All I still need are some disc callipers, some compressionless brake housing, and a headset.
I know what headset I want, but I'm torn between Hy/Rds and Spyres for stopping duties. Reading various reviews on each I'm still unsure. I'm not likely to take this too far away from civilisation, so the simplicity of the Spyres is not as appealing as the extra power of the Hy/Rds on paper. They would be paired with 6600 Ultegra STI units.
Also can someone recommend what compressionless cable to use? Yokozuna CX sounds and looks ideal, but I can't find any in stock. Not really a stand out project so I won't bother with a dedicated thread.

why cant i put MTB cranks on straggler again?
You can. Ignore Ed :)

• #99018
There's a pair of slightly used (!) Spyres for sale on here somewhere for a fair price at the moment. Here.
Jagwire do compressionless housing. BMX housing has also been suggested, and I believe @mdcc_tester has a suggestion too. FWIW I raced on Spyres with normal crappy cable housing this year and never felt under-braked, just under-skilled :)

HY/RD is pretty much the best cable brakes system out there if you can afford it.

I have a UN55 i got in a frame 5 year ago - i think at some point its been on pretty much every bike ive built as a makeshift bb till ive found/afforded the correct one - currently sat in the Donohue but spindle is too short for record pista cranks - first time its not worked!

• #99021
the fork needs some gentile aligning
I'm sure a Jewish framebuilder would do the job, just not on the Sabbath.
-
• #99022
That's a nice story.
-
• #99023
Maybe.
They top or bottom bar hole ones.
How much?
Pm if want.
Cheers -

Top mount, which I suppose might be too much stack if you're adding them to your TC racer? I think @Scilly.Suffolk and @eyebrows have both expressed dibs at some point though.
Bottom mount cheap here if you've already got some extensions.

What did you do with the zipps?
Looks good. Though could add gears ;)
