I've been a bit bored / under motivated at work today, and I've put together a spreadsheet of parts and weights for my Supersix. This is mostly displacement activity, as I can't ride more than 40km without horrible back pain at the moment.

It looks like I can get the bike down to about 6.2kg, even with 1650g wheels and no ridiculously expensive parts. The weight includes cages, pedals, light mounts and a Tillquist Garmin mount too. The most 'high end' bit is that 3T Seatpost, but I can't not have it.

Plus, if I manage to sort my back problems out, in the new year I can go do a hilly training holiday and whack some 1kg tubs on there... sub 6k!

Doesn't SMP advise against compression seatpost?

Probably, I didn't read the 100 page manual. I'll probably read it whilst resting and removing shards of carbon from my anus :)

luckily those Ergon posts look absolutely disgraceful, so I'll save that $5

If the rails are oval then they're only safely clamped from above and below, rather than the type of side-on clamp used on that 3t seatpost.
