Speaking of which, is there's a decent carbon in-line post to reduce vibration? @mdcc_tester?
-
• #98032
...is not carbon.

Fekkit, just going to go Nitto on the Merckx in Balk clothes.
Before you all go NO, that means the Miche cranks will also go for something Asian...Sugino/Shimano. Silver linings :D

Looks more at home in a butchers than on a bike.

Only just seen the Ionic LTD Stealth, which is frustrating because now I HAVE to have one.

Fizik Cyrano carbon 27.2 is £70 .. not bad.

Pretty sure I paid close to full price when I got mine. Gutted that they're so much cheaper now. Come in 400mm also for those that love to show the post.

I've been a bit bored / under motivated at work today, and I've put together a spreadsheet of parts and weights for my Supersix. This is mostly displacement activity, as I can't ride more than 40km without horrible back pain at the moment.
It looks like I can get the bike down to about 6.2kg, even with 1650g wheels and no ridiculously expensive parts. The weight includes cages, pedals, light mounts and a Tillquist Garmin mount too. The most 'high end' bit is that 3T Seatpost, but I can't not have it.
Plus, if I manage to sort my back problems out, in the new year I can go do a hilly training holiday and whack some 1kg tubs on there... sub 6k!

Doesn't SMP advise against compression seatpost?
-
• #98043
Probably, I didn't read the 100 page manual. I'll probably read it whilst resting and removing shards of carbon from my anus :)

oh! I'm talking about this one... http://www.3tcycling.com/road/en/bike-components/seatposts/ionic-25-ltd-stealth/

As opposed to holding the rails with...
Magnets???
-
• #98046
$295? You could get one of those fancy Ergon posts for that.
-
• #98047
Clamping applied only to the top and bottom of the rail.
-
• #98048
I know, but that's still compression
-
• #98049
luckily those Ergon posts look absolutely disgraceful, so I'll save that $5

If the rails are oval then they're only safely clamped from above and below, rather than the type of side-on clamp used on that 3t seatpost.
What saddle have you got?
