  • Oranjeboom?

  • What do they ride like Gaston? Thinking of getting a pair myself.

  • Very very robust rim. I use them in hard conditions with no problem
double stanless stel eylets so the spokes can be very tensed
The ceramic version is IMO the best tubular rim of the 90'(tubular cxp30,cxp 25 and Corima aƩro out).
    beautiful,aero, 480g, welded seam joint,stiff as hell...

  • Latest project, 2001 peloton with easton tubing.

  • So ages ago I bought this frame from @iamironman. Because, well, dat paint.

    And silly details like this:

I collected some rad bits from the forum including this stupid saddle

Other forum bits included NOS Mavic GP4 tubulars, SRAM red brakes, SRAM Force 22 cranks and Force 10 speed shifters.

For some reason I sat on all of this for about eight months, then finally worked up the momentum to chuck it all together last week.

I think it turned out OK. Steerer will get the chop.

Took it out for a test ride around Regents Park today - felt very different to my CAAD - calmer, not on a knife edge, but still very nice when stomping on the pedals. Took a quick snap when I got home which captures the colour better:

Curiously, on said test ride, the brakes honked like angry geese, the effects of tub glue residue, nos rims and part-worn pads I guess.

  • Very tidy @Howard

  • Put ya cranks to good use.

  • This is my actuel project

I swap this gt with Somec.

  • sweet gorgeous baby blue fixie

  • What actually is it howard?

    its amazing

  • Nice that the kittens let you help build it.

  • As @dimi3 kindly points out, a sweet baby blue fixie inc. chiprace 325 ti.

Of which not many seem to exist - or so google tells me.

  • Fixie inc. Chip Race 953 stainless or ti?

    Tres Bien @Thomas63!

  • Beat me to it @howard, had the stainless one, once. Really nice frames.

  • Yes. Cat 'helping'.

They were about as much use as a cytech qualified mechanic.

  • You do realise that all your bearings are now full of cat hair :-)

  • They seemed more interested in stealing my brake cables.

The results of which were unlikely to get the goons to dispense more kibble.

  • Superb

    Carlos

Cyfac (I'm not sure about his future)

  • Great build Howard

I remember thinking that frame was a crazy barg and a looker to boot!

  • GBBF needs either black hoods or white tape.

  • Finally finished my new road build and took it for a proper ride around some climbs. Way stiffer than previous carbons I've had (trek oclv + giant bonded), yet a softer / more dulled down ride than my 70s steel on 27" wheels. Will prob swap cassette to something closer ratio as the gaps between the mid gears are too great.
