  • Start with the RAILS level with adamos.

  • Thought I'd put this back together for a bit of summer skiddin.
Forgot how bendy but sharp and how much fun it is, especially on 46x18.
Feels like summers over now, so back in the loft it goes :(

one of the best forum bikes

  • ^a bike that just put a goofy grin on your face

  • Omega it is then!

Not because of the weight but because they're readily available on Wiggle and I want a big package from a single source instead of 6 different ones.

    Cheers!

Now for another question: When you order gatorskins from Wiggle you don't get those Gatorskin Ultra tyres right?

  • That's a big saddle drop there @Mr_B. Looks fast!

http://www.unlimitedcolors.nl quoted me €450,-/360 pounds to restore the Serotta to it's original state. Does that seem reasonable? I'm not familiar with the pricing for these kind of services.

  • And a Scoble-approved saddle angle

  • Really really nice.

    Good photos too.

  • How many ISM saddles does a man need?

And why are they all green??

  • got 5 for 230 euros...

  • That's a great price, even if they are green.

  • Not like you to turn your nose up at a.... Different colour?

  • After a long wait for the carbon seat tube to show up from across the pond, my new frame in the jig and underway at Talbot!
    Excitement!

  • @Gaston_Fr Are you planning on keeping all the ADAMOs? You don't want to sell me the "Road" do you, unless you have a cheeky ADAMO Time Trial tucked away somewhere?

  • @Mr_B Holy sh*t that's nice.

  • Top one is a TT innit?

  • Rattlecanned the lockup recently. Finna hit it with some metallic purple fade up front soon.

  • I think it's one of these which (so far as I understand) means that it's fractionally less padded than either the Road or the TT. Since I think I'll be going back to IM racing next year (maybe) I think I might appreciate the padding. Either way, happy to discuss with Mr Gaston if he wants to sell :-)

  • ...built myself a trail bike! rides nice so far. might get a iscg chainguard for it though as the chain keeps falling off.

  • Perhaps correct your chainline and chain tension instead of bolting on more stuff.

  • I've been thinking about something practical like this for a while, and taking a little inspiration from "NJS training " builds like the nag, but with a nice British steel frame. Meant to be a fairly low budget affair but it rides really well.

I've got some sram s900 levers I may put on at a later date, but I dont mind the tektros, despite their chunkyness.

  • ^Excellent work on that Argos - looks purposeful and practical, especially for winter.
Glad you posted that photo of the nag - that was my reference build when I started thinking about what to do with my Bob Rat only I couldn't find any pics of it.
Like you, I was thinking NJS trainer but British steel...
Unlike you, my build has stalled due to laziness and a broad range of other distractions...
Here it is sans drivetrain/front brake, and with a fubar'd rear tyre...

The poncy wheels are only for the summer, there are some good hard winter wheels in the pipeline... (especially considering it probably won't be summer anymore by the time I get it running)

  • Aye, great thing about the Argos, it's got guard mounts, so come winter it will get some hammered guards I have (were intended for the Hetchins) and possible a slim steel rack, as I'm using it for commuting most days. Don't want to put guards on till I have to though as I'm sure they will take some fun out of it...

  • ^ sounds good - I was planning raceblades for Bob
Front and rear brakes though.....? I thought you were Brklz to the bone....

(Mrs RVL was pleased to hear that I'm considering commuting with brake this winter!)

  • argos is a proper old school winter bike. What gear ratio is it running? looks a bit steep!
