Looking good FredyCro - Bike fit - ride it and make adjustments as you go. Unless the size is way off you should be able to figure it out.
Also, those forge Ahead stems - where did you find those and what angle/length are they? could use a similar stem in -17º 110mm or 120mm -

hello everyone, before starting a wanted thread,
does anyone have a 1980's-90's mtb which they would exchange for some cash? or point me in the direction of one?
many thanks -

Yup. Well, pink headset cap. Needed my name on there somewhere. Integrated headset on that frame.

Silver seat post will go nicely with the raw rear end of the frame. You'll see ;) Plus it's the only decent 27.2 I had in the spares box.

It'd be less naff to change your name to Chris King.

Normal King Cage or Iris King Cage for the Genesis?

Iris every time.

They look great, do they work fine? No issues with them jumping out or bring vicious to bottles?

Any ideas if a Dura Ace FC7410 would be an appropriate crankset for the Ron Cooper I'm building? They're very nice looking...

^^ I have mine for over two years, from my old Genesis to the custom bike, it never jumped out, but very hard to put/pull bottles from it, stretching the cages a bit will help.
I also had that cage on the underside of the bike when I went touring, never came off once.

since when were cracked forks practical? ;-)
(sorry!)
Pretty sure they are not cracked actually, just the paint, the creak has also completely gone.
Keeping an eye on it though!

Cross posting from Cannondale thread.
Had to take a sick day today from work. Spent my time building this:
Before anyone mentions 'bars down levers up' - no. The bars are in the same position that Scherrit recommended and I've put the levers in the best position for riding in the drops. If the lever angle needs to be changed then I will change them.

Seeing as I have both - I'd go with Iris. They look more elegant and hold the bottle about securely as anything in the world. Which is both an advantage and disadvantage.
Slow build due to a lot of working/studying and improvising.
Managed to sightly bend one fork end (the bike dropped from an improvised stand) while trying to true the the front wheel, good news is my LBS has the tool to align it again. Also a sloppy postman lost my axle (big rep to über_grüber for sending another one)! Some more goodies arrived from Wiggle and classifieds. Scratched black 50t MDT chainring (from British cycling team) on the way from an E-bay shop (the guy still has some in 130 BCD and is doing a good price).
To do list:
