Nitromors then wire wool, then cotton cloth with autosol (or similar) to buff it up. I have done it by hand before, and it is probably doable for a built up rim but tedious and awkward. Power tools would get it done faster but would require dismantling.

A proper strip and polish will be a billion times easier if dismantled.
If you simply want them silver instead of white, consider scuffing them up with 400-grit W+D and rattle-canning them silver. -

I have to dismantle the rear, but the front is only 20 spok so I might give it a shot as is. Cheers.

So. Much. Fun. Rode the SASS (with Thomson stem from BareNecessities) on some muddy singletrack yesterday:

Is it stupid to ride secondhand carbon bladed forks, even if they show no signs of damage/wear and we're being ridden recently by the previous owner?

That is such a cool photo and a great looking bike ^

Done that 3 times, only once did they inexplicably fail.

It's still quite aggressive, but for shorter rides (couple of hours) with difficult terrain it seems perfect! If I ever re-purpose it for day-long exploring, I'll have to have a look at raising the bars. I have also ordered a super cheap H-bar-imitation from Rose to test out a more swept-back bar.

because on 36H 1cross or 2cross is quite equal to radial for comfy and tangential rigid but less lateral rigid and heavier.
if you happen to understand me...
Is that 4 cross drive side, 2 cross non-drive side on the rear wheel Gaston?
If so, what're they like to build and ride with that spoke pattern?
Wanted to do my DT 240s/aerospoke/Archetype wheels in 2 cross on the lower load side, and 3 cross on the higher load side on a front-28h/rear-32h build to even the spoke tensions, but couldn't find the right length spokes cheap enough.
What was your reasons?

My girlfriend's soon to be finished Roberts. Just needs a better saddle, some SPD-SLs and some fizik tape.
Too big to embed;

That looks great, my mum has a similar Roberts, but in a shockingly awful shade of pink.

for your front 28H 3cross like my CX
And the rear 32 cross 3 DS And 2 NDS or crosfoot...if it's a TT radial but not 1 cross IMHO
My english is not enough good to tell all I want but
on thoses sherif track hubs 4 cross DS, 2 cross NDS hase the same tension and it rides fluidly.
That makes sense Gaston.
Forgot to say that my hubs were disc brake hubs, which is why the front wasn't the same both sides.
Next wheels I build I'll give it a try, me thinks some 25mm wide, 38mm deep carbon rims might be calling my name!

Is there any significant difference between a regular Formula track hub and an All City track hub?

good, cheers
will use them on the next machine i think
the record or gruppo turned up
but this spring has lost a lot of tension , so i hope i can find a shop that sells springs
If I want to strip the paint from my horrible white rims and make them into nice shiny silver rims instead, what's the easiest/cheapest way? And can I do it without dismantling the whole wheel?
