Why the 'crazy' geo?
-
• #92353
Because I bought it for TT use, and accepted that it would look funny with drops for occasional track forays.

Both frames for track non?

The forza was originally designed for endurance and time trial events, so has a tiny head tube so you can get low on aero bars.
I will probably get a steeper stem for it to reduce the amount of spacers. I want some new bars too as these carbon ones are a bit flexy.

I need to source a rear 57mm drop brake calliper to go on my road bike because I stupidly forgot I'd specd the frame for full mudguards and the stock Ultegra 6800 rear calliper has too short of a drop. What would be the best option? Annoyed that it won't match the rest of the groupset..
TRP is Tektro is TRP.
Go to the Tektro site, they'll have options in black and silver for a 57mm drop that will be much cheaper than the TRPs, with the same amount of function. -

shimano R650 will work just as well, Ultegra spec too, the new TRP look good, but might be a bit on the pricey side.
Jaybey pls. You said front. Distance between brake mount and braking surface doesn't change regardless of mudguards
Actually the width of the brake calipers change, the deeper drop brakes are also wider allow more room for mudguard and tyres.
Like this Tektro;

I don't think fenders are responsible for that.

I had to raise the saddle a good amount on the Dolan which meant the bars had to come up with it. Silly 120mm headtube.
No surprise there, I think Cinelli is one of the exception whose headtube is quite big for the size.

You should have gone to specsavers. I'm sure it will be brutally effective, but it's no looker.

Tell moi Gaston, A quoi does it servir to ligatured the rayons ?
Je do avoir too a pair of roues with the rayons ligaturedI dont understand french but I am guessing you are asking about the value of tied spokes?
Ill just add my little experience. I had a very old rear fixed wheel on which the spoke tension was not great. But they seemed as tight as they could safely go as the rim and nipples were so old, creaky and fragile. So I tied the spokes, and the wheel instantly felt 100% more awesome.

i bought a cheap old light tourer to commute to work on this week. I want to convert the 3x8 drivetrain to a 1x8. prob go with a 11-34 cassette. what is a good front ring size for this? i was leaning towards a 38/40 range but im terrible with all things gears.

Take the small and big ring off, then aligned the front derailleur.

That's quite a big range for spinning around town. Do you have many long big hills?

yes some pretty decent hills and also want to be able to do some lite touring in the future.
Needs a track stem, like this:
