New Frame - Colnago Dream Pista 56cm
Ah, an 008G Pista, so nice. First dibs if you ever move it on, I'd love a matching track frame.

i was told they are shamals
You were lied to - 20 spokes = Vento, assuming they really are Campag. The hubs will be marked, Gipiemme may have made some 20-spoke ones too, the rims are essentially the same but Gipiemme hubs are less prestigious, even if they are not actually worse than Campag Vento hubs.

'mazin frame. Paul hubs would be a shame IMHO. Looks made for HB-7600s.
Niice!
I used to run 52/19. Found it spot on for me.
Sweeeeeeeet frame!
Thanks for the nice comments guys!!! The paintwork really is special, I remember Tom's red Samson he got last year and that totally hooked me on a Samson, the detailing on the frame is absolutely exquisite.
I'll see if Kinoko can order up a 19t DA cog.
Really wanted HF hubs otherwise Dom I would have jumped on those wheels!
Awesome frame. What's its history, famous forrin rider or big Japanese chap?
Looks like a big Japanese chap....
the guy whose name is on the bb shell is 186.7cm

19t DA cogs don't exist, they top out at 16t.

Ah nits. Didn't know that!
Looks like I'll get an EAI from Hub Jub then.
Ed - what was the issue on the Phil Wood cogs and threads? I heard they don't thread properly on some hubs?
-
• #91712
Phil Wood lockring is italian threaded (for their own hubs), the cog itself is normal.

Ed you have shot me down in flames. Ok thanks. EAI is half the price at £24.50.

The issue was that EAI* cogs don't thread onto phill hubs, nothing wrong with the phil cogs on most other hubs that you'll come across though.
*gold medal, maybe the other cogs are fine because they don't have the coating to mess with the threads.

Phil Wood cogs are worth the extra money - they're top notch. I'd not use anything else now. Unless you're dead set on Japanese everything, get a Phil and be done with it.

I have an EAI Superstar on a 7710 hub and a regular EAI on a Formula/Ambrosio, both are fine, but Phil Wood themselves don't recommend using EAI (and some other cogs) on their own hubs.
If you've bought Phil Wood hubs, spend the money on the Phil cog & lockring. Otherwise you should be ok.

Condor stainless cogs work well with Phil hubs and are excellent value and quality

^^ and £1100 without shipping and taxes is crazy.

Does it transform?
-

It transform rich mugs into slightly poorer mugs with shit hubs

You were lied to - 20 spokes = Vento
ok but they have 16 spokes, and the hubs do say campag
shame someone took it upon themselves to replace the original decals

The saddle is black, now I'm trying to decide between simple black cloth tape on the drops, or dark red, or even gold. Black I can do straight away, but seems a little plain.
Black.
Scumbags!
I can't answer your question though. Theres different types around, and they're all beautiful.
Seen how your pair has got 4 decals, turning clockwise and Campagnolo usually used just 2 decals, parallel to eachother, I'd say the decals were put on by someone.
Vento
Gipiemme
Shamal
Zonda
